not out for Macs yet

Yeah. Also it's still a beta. Lots of glitches so far is what I hear, athough when it's working right, it's supposed to be wicked fast.
Also, there's no equivalent for Adblock Plus, and based on Google's business model, there's unlikely ever to be. Adblock Plus is almost reason enough alone to stick with FF. -
I'm unlikely to try anything because I've been pretty darned pleased with FF3, for once.
-
When they come out with a Mac version, I'll definitely take it for a spin, but it's going to take a lot to get me to give up FF3.

I would have on FF2, but now the level of happiness that I have achieved with FF3 has ceased my wanderings.
And screw Safari. Ew. -
Safari is the worst.

IE is the worst. Safari is pretty good and only looks bad next to FF3. It does some things better, particularly in handling pdfs, something I have to do a lot for work.
When they come out with a Mac version of Chrome, it will join my menagerie of FF3, Safari, Camino, Flock, Opera, Omniweb, Netscape Navigator and Explorer (I still keep old copies of the last two around for a few retarded sites that still render better in them). -
Yes, FF3 sucks on PDFs, but that can be fixed with add-ons so it isn't too big of a deal.
Yer a browser whore, Carnivore. -

That is true. -

That is true.
What is true?
IE is the worst? (I say false, see next line.)
Safari is pretty good? (I say false, and try it on Windows.)
Safari only looks bad next to FF3? (I say false, again on Windows though.)
That Safari handles PDFs better than FF3? (I don't know, but wouldn't doubt it. But FF3's PDF suckage can be fixed with add-ons.)
Or that Carnivore has to handle PDFs a lot for work? (I'll take him at his word and go with true.)
Concrete Blonde has an old song called True.
Yup. -

Which add-on do you like for this? They all seem to have a bunch of negative comments, although PDF Download seems to be best overall. -

I've tried several and have had varying degrees of pissed-off-ed-ness. They either didn't work right, or they worked right but didn't do what I wanted them to do. I want to be able to a) save a PDF, b) open it in a tab, or c) fire it straight into Acrobat. I'm currently using PDF Download, and have been perfectly happy with it. -

It's a free browser that's lean and speedy (for example Brooklynian loads much faster for me with Opera than FF3, even with ABP). You can add "widgets" with it, it supports tabbed browsing, and has a zoom in feature. It also has some stuff that web developers like. It's worth a try if you've never used it, but overall I like FF3 better.
FYI, the Wii browser is built on Opera. -
I totally swore by Opera in the mid 90s, it was the antithesis of the ugly windows bloat browsers that pervaded.
-
OK, I tried the Chrome, just because of all the hype. I found it to be definitely _slower_ than FF3, and when I watched videos on CNN (since a lot of the hype had to do with it being built from the ground up for that sort of thing) it totally crackled and lagged them, while FF3 played them without issue. It's coming back off. Not ready for prime time IMO.

Oh Netscape, how I miss thee -
oh man. i think i do remember mosaic...all tooling around on dad's computer with OS Warp. those were the days....
-
I do use Opera Mini 4 on my phone because Pocket IE sucks a LOT.
Howdy, Stranger!
