yeah the hk stuff is the best.. sorry to say.. hmmm you like claw's stuff ???
-
Yea, I am a fan of claw money. I don't love all her stuff including those crazy printed sweatshirts for mega $ and the Nike collabs (but that's probably because I lean towards af1s and low and high dunks).
But she has her gems. -
eeeeeek the blazers weren't bad.. but her stuff is blahhhhh to me.. like thrift store shit that you sew a patch on and then charge like $400 that shits funny like funny that you as a designer could put that out and funny that a consumer would pay for that shit . the blazers are by far the best thing she ever did... as you can see im NO fan of her..
-
Well for what its worth, the colette x gap tee she did with Miss Tic was more reminscent of her graffiti work.
The Nike stuff was innovative, especially the vandals - peacock feathers. The colors were way too bright for me. -
yeah that stuff was good. the vandals were cool but the colors blah. thats so funny running into someone on this board who knows about that stuff.. where do you shop at?
-
It is a bit odd, but the urban streetwear culture is growing.
I'm torn between being a responsible adult (saving and investing my $) and giving in to my sneaker fiend ways.
But I digress, a few shops that I like are:
Reed space
Classic kicks
Atmos
Opening ceremony
Global nyc
House of hoops
What are some of your faves? -
ahhaaahaa i AM urban streetwear !!!
they sell my stuff at all those places except global nyc ive never heard of that place and well yeah house of hoops.. blahh @ 125th !!
i dont really shop much.. but im friends with alot of the "owners" of the stores !!
aahahah @ the sneaker fiend ways.. oh man oh man .. i got stories for days ahahahahaah
me personally only like stores that support me 100%
so those are as follows in terms of #1 supporters
flightclub
brooklyn circus
supreme
alife
goliath
and a few other randoms round it out -
So,now that you have peaked my curiosity...do you design for a label? Your own label? PM me if you don't want to promote yourself shamelessly.
I limit myself to 1-2 new pairs of kicks a month now. Last month, I was really good and was at 0.
Global nyc is a relatively new sneaker shop located @ 129 Grand St bet. Bway and Crosby. They have a lot of European kicks and limited editions as well. It's a British based company (Global). -
ahahah ohh "that store" ahahahah its auctulally owned by some indian dudes who have a few stores downtown brooklyn & in queens.
ehhhhh i stay outta that place. i never been in it when it was that other harsh place " la pizza" aahahahh pretty harsh..
but naaaaa i dont design anything i just wear stuff & i dont own a "clothing" label/brand but im very affiliated with many of em. lol @ 1-2 pair a month thats not bad at all.
i made a small video that all those stores sold. -
wanted to check it but didn't want to stand in line. were the prices more colette or gap?
-
a little of both - tees were bet $30-$40, oakleys were $150, necklaces ranged from $60-$75, keith haring chocolate and cookie tins were $7.
My awesome Hello Kitty watch was $90.
The line wasn't so bad, there were some friendly people. I also used the time to catch up on my blog reading and called a few of my friends. -
wait, where is this?
-
It's on 54th and 5th, next to the Gap store.
alafairnadia, great to see you back, (I know it's not until Friday). -
i went last week and was not that impressed. i'm not going to pay $40 for a shitty gap tshirt. yes the art is great on it but it is still a shitty gap tshirt!
i'd rather hit up zakka, though that's a little harder since they moved to DUMBO.
Howdy, Stranger!
