Knit Your Ass Off In September — Brooklynian

Knit Your Ass Off In September

Hello PH Knitters,

September is a bit slow for knitting (but so is the economy). It's almost time to air out the wool-wear and shake out the dead moths. This year we bid a fond goodbye to Maha's Cafe. Knit PH wishes her good fortune in her future catering business. We'll all miss the home-made falafel, the cozy yet friendly cafe and Maha.

Don't forget to register to get 10% discount cards on yarn from Stitch Therapy. Cut-off date is 2 days before a meet-up. To join Knit PH for FREE or to RSVP, go to: http://knitting.meetup.com/1331

Knitting behind the Brooklyn Museum!
Saturday, Septermber 13
3:30 to 6:30 PM.

Knit PH has one more late summer afternoon behind the Brooklyn Museum! It's very pleasant and relatively quiet on the benches in the shade. This is our final opportunity to knit outdoors before fall, so please join us!

Eliza B. is organizing a drive to knit winter items for children in Afghanistan. A small pair of mittens doesn't take long, it's a great train project. For more information on what is needed on our Ravelry PH page, or feel free to email Eliza B., deadline is late September.

Sunday, September 21
7:30 to when ever they run out of booze.
485 Dean Street
(6 ave. & Dean)

Embrace fall, knit your ass off with a frosty beer, or wine from a box at Freddy's. Always available on this night: swift, wool winder, yardage counter and good conversation.

VODKA AND TUTONIC?
The German Language Studies Club also meet on this night at Freddy's. It's a good way to brush up on your conversational German over beer. You are not expected to Germanize and knit at the same time, but could it hurt? For more information contact Dave Benjoya:

YARN TRADE!
Re-heat your leftovers by making a cat toy, small mittens, fringe and other finishing touches. How about that oddball striped scarf that you've always wanted to start? This September, stop the hoarding and release the yarn. The Swift, yardage counter and wool winder are waiting for you.

  • Subject: Cat Breakfast Treat

Yeah, and the real mice can be a bit "bitey" when cornered. Then how about this Cat Breakfast Treat torn from the NY Times food section? It's as easy to make as a real microwave sausage.

  • I can't believe you're posting knitting patterns on Brooklynian! :)

    Eliza
  • Just trying to inspire.
  • Nothing wrong with posting knitting patterns here. I am sure there are some knitters here. I am one. The colder weather coming is an inspiration to knit.
  • Yep, and winter will soon be here. Maybe I should post something more useful, like a scarf pattern. Hmmm.
