Eye Cream — Brooklynian

Eye Cream

Ok, at the tender age of 38, I have just started using eye cream. Is it too late? Do I use it day and night? What exactly does it do, just moisturize the eye skin?

  • I feel your pain. At 35, I could smuggle a family of refugees in my pores. It depends on your skin. Is it dry or oily? Is the cream you're using a moisturizing cream or a firming cream?

I have fairly oily skin, so I tend to use a moisturizing cream at night and a firming cream during the day.
  • I have the total T zone thing. I dunno what kind it is exactly, but the ads promised me the moon and stars. I get so confused with all this stuff!
  • Use your ring finger to just barely dab it on - don't rub.
  • What brand? Is it anti-wrinkle? I have tried various drug store brands and am unsure which one I like the best. I will say I like the squeeze out tube better than the finger pot, and Roc seems to end up in my drawer more than anything.

I am age 24 and I already worry about this stuff. I have 6 sisters (all older except 2) and I look to them for various womanly issues such as this. Most have dark bags under eyes alot of the time and lines. My oldest sister is 32. I am trying to prevent the issues they have now before it might be too late.

So...I was wondering if you had found anything good as far as the eye cream. I have been using a CVS brand cream and I like it. I forget what it is called but it is compared to an oil of olay product.
  • I love eye cream. I use it daily, usually before I go to bed but sometimes in the morning especially after a long night. Don't forget to really rub it in where the crow's feet are. It definitely helps. And remember, eye cream is not just for sassy ladies, get your man to use some too!

I use some Nutragena lotion. It only cost about $11. These eye creams can be quite ridiculously expensive.
  • Does anyone else have a certain Sleater-Kinney song in her head after reading this thread?

"Eye cream and thigh cream/how bout a get high cream
Nothin I do, smoothes out the feelings of being used..."
