  • ....wonder what will become of all these branches.

You can only have some many bars called "The Vault". Surely, we are going to have to be more creative.

hehe. Cause you know we need more Chase branches.

    Vaults could make good...

    1. Meat lockers
    2. Saunas
    3. Opaque Fish Tanks
    4. Rent-a-Jails
  • 5. Day cares
    6. places to cry alone in the event that McCain wins.
  • 7. Places to make love if Obama wins.
  • 8. Sets for magicians/escape artists to do their tricks.
    9. Hardware stores? All the little drawers could hold bolts, screws and such.
  • 10. places to hold a "free party" for Republicans from PA and OH on November 3.
    11. places to announce that "due to the pending takeover of WaMu by Chase, we have encountered a temporary lapse of service on our remote lock release contract. We expect the doors to open at the stroke of midnight, November 6th. Please enjoy Caahyoko's fish and all the vintage WaMu pens in the meantime."

ok, let's now fantasize about how we would trick the republicans into believing that going into the safes would be a good idea. They aren't real smart, so this should be fun:
  • For example, if one wanted to trick a horny male republican: "Hey, I hear there is a former beauty queen in there. She's got five kids but she likes guns!"

The same way they were lured into WaMu the first time around - 2.9% teaser rate, non-amortizing, no-doc mortgages!

Dumb republicans and democrats fell for such lines. I'd like to just trap republicans this time... we've got some idle talent on these boards, but not a lot of folks are logged on at the moment. Given time, the tricks will hopefully be posted...
  • They are Republicans so they respond to fear. I say crank the alert level to red and say that's where we keep the duct tape.
  • Subject: fires by owners

Well, it's not as far fetched as all that actually.
    http://nymag.com/realestate/features/21339/index1.html

When we were looking at houses in 2004, we put in an offer on a vacant house on St Marks right next to the apts at Classon. Two days later we went over to do an official engineering inspection and the door was burnt and chained shut. The neighbors told us that there had been a fire which started in the hallway at the front door. It almost burned through their adjoining brick wall and their lives were in danger. Our realtor was surprised, made some calls and we went away, eventually finding another house.

A friend's father who is very savvy in business and owned a junk yard in New York for years (Sopranos anyone?!) said, "Oh, your offer established the value of the property for insurance purposes, so they could set in on fire and collect!"

Who knows but anything's possible in this nutty village.
