We could not get on the boat the time we wanted to heading into Manhattan AND we could not get a boat period ! to bring us back to Bklyn. Stuck by the South St. Seaport 9:30pm exhausted. Mildred felt good she had a martini in her. Janet & I had advils in us. Not enough time to take a train. We had to hail a cab to make it back to get 2 cars out of the Ikea parking before it closed. As Janet said the taxi driver was a Taliban (oh dear ). I say to them 1/2 kidding 1/2 serious "Lets hold hands & pray we get there in time"
Janet starts praying BUT not in our language (understand) Mildred is hysterical & I am a nervous wreck the driver will hear Janet. She stops and now tells me we are all going to be kidnapped & that he is eyeing me in the rearview mirror and I am the chosen one he will take to the CAVE. She is not whispering this !!! I finally give up & bust with mildred and we can't control the laughter. I told Janet to stop because I swore I was going to pee right in the taxi , what does she do ? sticks my jacket right under my ass incase I do. He passes the exit & instead of court street we are now heading for 39th st. I am thinking I am going to the CAVE.
Needless to say he was very nice & took us right inside Ikea to the cars. We are in traffic now & heading home and the drawbridge won't go down & we can't back out. So we sit and wait & wait & think of the next REUNION -

I know of a great website where I have been working on my own cookbook. It's pretty easy to create, and since I am an artist, I can even do the park slope cover.
Let me know if you want me to help with this. I think it's a great idea. We can even use the first pictures we have of our 1st reunion. I am also a graphic artist, so I can help with that too.

I remember when Ricky A & I were the last to become altar boys in our group. Latin was pretty rough for us so Father Fred assigned us to early mass with Monsignor SALA (ISOLATE US). It was hard to tell if he was growling or praying, he confused us to the point we were ringing the bells at the wrong time, dropping/ running out of wine. After 2 weeks Father D’Amato intervened & saved us. During that service there were the same 7 women dressed in black (widows) in the whole church. What A TRIP. I loved funeral (out of school) & $ 5 for the wedding we split. Wow Any Altar boys out there?
Remember: Sister Saint Jerome alias "Geronimo" when mad ‘”Geronimo on the warpath” quite scary or Sister Cornelius alias “cornball express”. I had the privilege of meeting her wrath when I let the rear church door slam during a quiet time in the church service I got the drift to her alias. When school ended we went straight to Nick the Barber for a crew cut.

Remember the Motto: Prayer + study= success. I still apply it today.
As part of the crossing guard ( 6th ave) I remember Mrs. Dritto very well . She always had a smile & a kind heart.
There was Steve's grocery /candy store on 22nd street & 6th avenue with penny candy 60’s,70’s & 80’s too.
