PATSY..... Hello I guess Janet will either get a second wind & go on the blog or conk out. Hey do you notice how many people are hearing about the next reunion and are wanting to come, ones who were not there on 9-21. How nice !

TO ALL MY BROOKLYN FRIENDS:
Okay, I thought we would have a little sing-a-long. Ready? And a one and a two and a three:
Voooooolare, oh oh
Cantare, oh oh oh oh
Let's fly way up to the clouds
Away from the maddening crowds
We can sing in the glow of a star that I know of
Where lovers enjoy peace of mind
Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind
Just like birds of a feather, a rainbow together we'll find
Volare, oh oh
E cantare, oh oh oh oh
No wonder my happy heart sings
Your love has given me wings
Mentre il mondo pian piano spariva lontano laggiu
Una musica dolce suonava soltanto per me
Volare, oh oh
E cantare, oh oh oh oh
No wonder my happy heart sings
Your love has given me wings
Nel blu, dipinto di blu
Felice di stare lassu
VERY GOOD SINGING! I heard you all the way here down South. Brooklynites, I expected you to do a little better than our Staten Island pals. New Jersey, get some singing lessons!
LOVE,
TWIGGY -
I missed the thing about the flan. Are we talking about a bathtub full of flan covered in whipped cream ?
-
Christine...
You have such a "Beautiful" voice... :-({|= ... And you sing in another language too... Very impressive.....
Geri (Gagliardi) O'Brien :P -
TWIGGY, THAT WAS GREAT =D> DID YOU LOOK UP THE WORDS IN THE OTHER LANGUAGE IN A BOOK? I LOVED IT. YOU ARE UNBELIEVABLE
-
Hi Everybody,
Just to announce that Janet got home to North Carolina about 7:30PM. She is safe and sound and is happy to be back with her kitties and doggies. Bye, bye, Janie. Olivia and Petunia want to know where you are.

GERI O'BRIEN,
I'm so glad I impress someone! How are you my fellow Floridian?
Bob Horan has the nerve to write about flan instead of singing! Wait until I get him next year. He never gives a "shout out" to me. Was is because I gave you "Mongo's" name tag? You kept saying you were not coming on the 21st, so I did not print one out for you.
PATSY:
I "googled" lyrics to Volare and got the words. The next time, young lady, sing a little louder, please.
Hope you are doing okay. I would love to see pictures of your children. Did you sign on to "Facebook" so you could post some? You could email me too.
Have a great night! -
Twiggy--
As punishment for getting off the topic you should have Bob Horan eat a dozen jelly doughnuts--not the sissified FDA approved light red jelly ones either, but the tainted DARK RED jelly doughnuts, full of God-knows-what. By the way I am disappointed that hardly anyone, except Millie, complimented my Granny's Irish recipes. I suppose Bob Horan will find something to complain about even if my Granny is his Granny also. The nitrates, hormones, preservatives, and saturated fat in the bacon and hot dogs probably put more people into premature burial than Mr. Sardonicus. But at least they tasted good going down. Also add creosote to the ingredients in Granny's dishes, because by the time she burnt up dinner that's the chemical that formed in the frying pan. I'm glad Granny only made dinner about twice a year or I probably would not be alive to blog about it today. -
MARILYN
Sounds like Granny has something in common with me.
I'm not allowed to do the garlic bread anymore  -
Just in case anyone missed these pictures:

I did get home efore 7 last night and it was raining the last 200 or 300 miles, This prevented me from getting online since I have Skyrunner (radio waves) and it goes out if the leaves on the trees are saturated.
Patsy, I had a great time in Brooklyn. I tried to get to your Flea Market, but couldn't fit it in.
Christina: You are one talented girl. As for the name tag thing, Bob liked Mongo and even wore it again, lol, by mistake.
Carol: What can I say. You had me laughing the whole time I was up there.
Millie: Wish we had more time together. But we did have fun !!!
Al: I know you're not on the blog, but Carol will tell you, I have a nice time up in Bensonhurst and thanks for the Pizza.
Memory: When we couldn't eat meat on Fridays, we had a choice of fish or pizza. We always chose the Large $1 Pizza from 3 Star. So, since we ate it for years growing up, I didn't eat pizza until a few years ago.
Everyone: See you again next year and look forward to seeing many people that did not make this years reunion. Had a great time.
Everyone also: Does anyone remember the name of the fudge like candy that came in a bottle top like container and had a very tiny spoon? So far the only thing I can come up with is Spoon Candy online. I loved that stuff. Probably poisonous, lol. -
Hooray for this blog
-
Patsy....I don't know about you but I'm still recovering from my sale!!!!
Christina.....did you hear me singing???? Next time I want to hear Quando, Quando, Quando!!!!! -

IT IS SO NICE TO SEE THE BLOG GETTING BACK TO SOME OF THE OLD MEMORIES. I sometimes sit and say what other things do I remember from back then. AND ..someone comes along with another great memory.
JANET,
Happy u made it home safe. I give u alot of credit for doing what u did all that traveling.
FUNNY yesterday when i taught ccd I talked about confession. How we had to go in a dark room. I remember me and Gay Coen shaking in St. johns church the first time we had to go to confession. We thought there were ghost in the confessional box. We were so little and frightened. I still can see Gay's face as she probably saw mine with the look of horror.
I remember Diane Taylor dropping the host.OMG what a scene in church. You saw the nuns and priest if i remember getting holy water and it was a big thing and everyone was so quiet.
Remember we could not wear pants or did u mention that barbara. In my house if u did not go to church on sunday which was never, u did not go out the entire day.
I DONT CARE WHAT IS IN THE JELLY DONUTS I WISH I HAD 6 NOW WITH A CUP OF COFFEE AND MAYBE A CRUMB BUN, WARM WITH ALOT OF CRUMBS. OH AND MAYBE ONE CREAM. YES CAROL I CAN EAT ALL AT THE SAME TIME AND WHAT IS CRAZY I DONT GET SICK JUST A FAT ASS. LOL Love terry angelo
Today no baby, no one but me and myself. Got to sleep late AHHHHHH!!
I missu Mia but not all the cheerios thrown around the house. -
TWIGGY,
I feel so bad i missed the singing yesterday. I am singing to u now
VOLARE, OH OH
CONTARE, OH OH DID U HEAR ME
Love Terry -
Hi Anthony: I always wondered why eating meat on Fri. was a mortal sin the same as murder. How can you justify that? You go to hell just the same. So you met the devil and he asks why you're here, one guy says I'm a mass murderer, the other guy says I ate meat on Fri. Ridiculous!!!!! And now it's not a sin at all. Go figure. BTW, I knew Alan and Barbara Umbria. Actually, the were more friends of my brother Frankie Blue. How are they?

Hi all from the Old Goat in Florida (West Coast) I was really surprised that in all your memories of Coney Island no one mentioned Steeplechase Amusement Park, Am I so old that it was already closed before you all got old enough to enjoy it? It was a wonderfule park with a variety of rides, shows etc:. The nameplate ride was the "Steeplechase" ride where you mounted individual horses,(Man made horses) and rode completely around the outside of the park as well as a good portion of the inside. The park was built and operated by George C Tilyou. Guess where he and his family lived? Park Slope. I believe it was 3rd or 5th Street between 7th & Prospect Park West. At one point Steeplechase burned down and Tilyou completely rebuilt it with inovative ideas like selling the warped pennies from the fire in the penny arcade and charging a nickle to look through a peephole to see the reconstruction. One of the rides was the Caterpiller which at one point in the ride closed over and the whole thing resembled a Caterpiller. Many a young couple shared their first kiss on that ride in complete privacy. The Minor Leauge ballpark where the Cyclones play is where Steeplechase Park used to be. The parachute Ride (Which I believe is still standing by the boardwark), was part of Steeplechase but required a seperate ticket.
In regards to the Brooklyn drinking water. If you come to Florida bring a case of bottled water with you. Unless you have a thing called reverse osmosis hooked up, you hold your nose while drinking Florida water. Brooklyn water beats it by a mile. -
