Dow closes down 679 points

flux
edited November -1 in Brooklyn Politics
On Monday when the Dow took a nose dive my boss looked worried and said that he is not worried because he is in it for the long run. On tuesday the stock went down again and he said that he was discusted with the stock market and wants to get into real estate.

Today I was off from work. he is going to be in a very pissed off mood tomorrow.

Today's news means that he won't get that new corvette that his wife said he could get.

he knows that the stock market is down because of real estate, right?

Unfortunately, I think it has to do with alll of us even if you don't have a dime invested in the market. A sad situation for the economy, for sure.
  • My boss has been taking this unusually well - I think that he's just waiting for it to hit bottom so that, if nothing else, he can comfort himself by saying, "it'll only get better from here."

I think that it's almost like that dental visit that has been a long time comin' - it's better to get it over with than to have that lingering fear around.
  • My boss sold his home for 33 million dollars and he was in a pissy, foul mood all day because he wanted 35. I can imagine what today will bring.
  • down 5,500 points or 39% since the dow's all time highs 1 year ago.

we will see 7,000 before 10,000

Yep, I get that, Veets. I meant, this belongs in The Lounge or somewhere else....not the PS thread
  • You all need to get real jobs like spreading asphalt or threading pipe all day. It will do wonders for those limp wrists. Tell me I'm wrong!
  • My wrist is limp from carrying a heavy purse all day.

Probably because it's full of Krugerrands.

Who do you work for? I am going to need a job in a few weeks!

A limp wrist means a heavy purse.

One might procure a shoulder strap.

    Sore shoulder begets strong wrist?
  • dow down 1,000

Fashion, my dear, makes one suffer for the art of beauty.

    Carry on, Anastasia...carry on....
  • Dr. Phil had a lady on whose uterus fell out until she stuffed it back in. One might attach said bag to that. Trendsetting, even. Possibly. One would definitely suffer, does that count?

Regarding the rollercoaster ride on the stock market.

What did Palin say to Pinocchio when she was sitting on his face?
Tell the truth! Tell a lie! Tell the truth! Tell a lie!

Although I suppose the current ride has been just about all lies.

    Le sigh.
  • I think we'll all be pushing shopping carts around by the end of the week. With or without a shoulder strap. I hope mine will be in Fall colors.

Shopping cart straps are badass. Way better than those sissy motorized pushers.

Yeah, he's a complete douche bag. But I'd really rather not fuck him, thanks.

Actually it's more fun since my money is not involved! ;-)
  • Everyone's money is involved. It's the whole domino/six degrees of Kevin Bacon thing.
