Removing A/C from window
Like many of you, I bought one of the cheapie Frigidaire A/Cs from Lowe's this summer. I have heard that when the A/C is removed from the window water spills out everywhere. Apparently there is no drain hole so the mosquitos don't get into the thing, but then there is no drain hole for the humidity buildup water to drip off.
Has anyone taken theirs down yet? How did you deal with the water?

When was the last time you used it? If its been a couple of weeks all the water has likely evaporated. It's not that much water anyway. Balance the unit on the window sill and rock it back, most of the water will spill out the back onto some fool below. Just kidding, not that much! Seriously.
Once you've removed most of the water by rocking it, bring it in the room without standing it face up on the floor until you can put it on a floor where a little water wont matter. Still unless you're worried about some priceless carpeting there isn't a lot of water to worry about. A few paper towels worth. -
Weeks ago, but it has rained a lot since then. OK, that doesn't sound like too much. Maybe I'll set it on an old towel on the wood floor.
I really want my window back! Thanks -
there really isn't any way rain is going to get in to it.

I have used a Frigidaire window a/c unit for a few years. You will definitely need to have something on the floor to catch any water or leaves or other detritus that comes off the a/c unit. I've found that even if I haven't used it for a couple of weeks, there is still water that comes out.

Running the A/C on fan-only mode for several hours may also help dry up any residual water.

To deal with it: a couple of towels on the sill and floor when removing, just in case. Some years a little, some years a lot.
