Obama Calling Party At Tavern on Dean — Brooklynian

Obama Calling Party At Tavern on Dean

sweet tea
edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
Today, 2-5. byo cellphone and either a laptop or a printed list of folks to call (from the obama website).

i'm a superfan of voting, but let's think critically about how much the electoral college lets our brooklyn votes count. if you're not so into president palin, gotta put a little work in.

  • I have done this twice at Tavern On Dean, and each time it was super fun and rewarding. I talked to people in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and only one person didn't answer "Obama," immediately when I asked who they planned to vote for on November 4th. You can go to mybarackobama.com and call from home, but it's more fun when you have people around to share your call stories with. Also, it's nice to have people to bounce ideas off of and gather information from as a way of informing your calls. I can't make it today...too much other work to do, but it really is worth doing.
  • Are they going to do it again?
  • i'm not sure, but you can look at a list of local call parties on the obama web site (go to "neighbor to neighbor" and then "events"). that's how i found the ToD one.

i find the MoveOn system a little easier to use online, and my friend who works for the Ohio campaign says it's just as good to use that one, so that's what i'm doing from home.
