Tatem Acupuncture

Passed by this new acupuncture place on Flatbush. Has anyone gone? I'm wondering how the treatments are and if they take insurance? According to the website, the prices are a lot higher than what I've been paying in Chinatown, but I like to support local businesses. Currently seeking treatment for severe migraines.

  • Tatem Acupuncture and Wellness at 285 Flatbush ave, is what you are referring to. Her practice incorporates traditional eastern medicine, folk knowledge, spiritual beliefs, and newly conceived approaches to healing. Ms. Tatem applies alternative medicine methods beyond acupunture, it is not only special procedures, she also incoporates aligning the right nutrition to help your recover. Her attitudes towards life, the serene office setting all helped my successful treatment of my scalp condition, stress levels and sex problems. She does not take insurance as of now. I can tell you though about how her prices are well worth it, but I say see her for yourself. She will open the world in your soul for healing.
  • Waited until I'd had a couple of appointments to comment. I was a little dubious because of effusive nature of previous post.

But the practitioner seems very good. (I've been to four or five acupuncturists over the last decade; I go for immune support and general recentering after heavy travel schedules.) She uses some Japanese acupuncture methods as well as moxybustion.

She takes quite a bit more time than some other practitioners (who have more of an assembly-line approach) which may account for the slightly higher rate.

I'm partial to acupuncture in the nabe because after a session I'm always relaxed and a bit spaced and the last thing I want to do is ride on the subway...much nicer to stroll home.
