i keep hearing big booms from outside somewhere. are they doing demolition at the (possible) AY site? it's been going on until quite late at night.

  • Wind-related, perhaps?
  • maybe it's the roof work on ps 9?

That's me flying at super sonic speed. I'll fly slower when in the hood.

  • If you live nearish to the AY site then that's probably what it is. They began tearing up Dean St. yesterday to repave it. They use a backhoe to smash the pavement creating a "big boom" not to mention massive tremors that shake my apt. building. At least the road will look nice again...
  • thanks. i'm guessing it's some combo of ps9 and dean st. sorry, superman.
  • usually when they do work on the street they put down these huge steel plates to cover the hole untill the get around to filling it. whenver a big truck drives over these plates they make a huge booming noise.

ive had to listen to it for atleast a week now
  • it's the ps nine roofwork. i had been wondering myself [live directly around the corner, and it's been loud]. tonite, when i took the canine to run around in the schoolyard at around 8pm, workers were dropping large objects down a shute from roof to ground. demolition-related, it appears. big booming noise. they appear to start early and work way into the evening.
