Hey talking about sauce and gravy, do you all remember "Wavy Gravy" from the 60's. Far freakin' out, man
As far as the cooking terms, like I said, it ain't what you call it. For example, it doesn't matter what Chef Boy-Ar-Dee calls what he puts in his cans. Sauce or Gravy, it tastes like sh*t.
So, instead of battling of what to call it, let's see some good recipes ! Then just call it whatever you want. -
Marilyn, Carol - Are you using this stuff to patch up holes in the walls! WOW! talk about ruffage....whew! :chef:
-
DAN you posted :

what are you talking about ? -
Carol - the oatmeal mix. It sounds like you can use it to patch up holes in the wall.

HI BLOGERS
FIRST SAUCE IS MADE BY PUTING FLOUR OR A RUE INTO A SMALL AMOUNT OF LIQUID TO MAKE IT THICKER THE FLAVORING IS ALREADY IN THE PAN YOU ADD THE THICKING TO AS LIKE PAN DRIPPINGS
A GRAVY IS A LIQUID THAT YOU FLAVOR WITH THE STUFF YOU ADD TO IT
IN THE CASE OF A TOMATOE GRAVY YOU MIGHT ADD THINGS LIKE MEATBALLS OR SAUSAGE OR ANTHING ELSE TO ADD FLAVOR
SO WHAT YOU PUT ON YOUR RONIES IS GRAVY

You need to come on each day ..... to make MY day.
I have to be honest I'm not to sure I would like a Bean sandwich.
mmmmmm add a few thinly sliced hot dogs and you just might have a cooking show ! -
Bob, I have to agree with you, call it what you want (sauce/gravy) but if you don't make it right it's still called sh_t.
Bob if everyone posted a sauce recipe it will be debated for weeks.
Carol, you're right, its like chicken soup, everyone has a recipe.
My mother had six sisters, seven women in their family, EVERY ONE of them made sauce/gravy a little different and some called it gravy and others called it sauce, same family, go figure. -
ohhh ma-lone...I knew I shouldnt have gotten involved with the gravy/sauce topic....lol
Being that half of my family is Italian...some do call it gravy....but if you go to a restaurant ...dont they usually ask... would you like marinara sauce on your pasta? Clam sauce?
Anthony ....Im not a great cook ...but if I mix flour with a liquid ...lets say from a turkey....its usually called turkey gravy....right??? LOL -
