  • Lieberman said the same thing about McCain.

This next administration is coming preloaded with international crisis -- economic and political -- and I'm far more comfortable having Obama and Biden take it on than McCain and Palin. I only wish they could start on November 5.
  • Biden is friends with the Clintons who definitely have limited the help they are giving Obama, especially Bill who is so conveniently busy now and who prefaces everything with I am here because Hillary sent me or told me to come. He so detests Obama who dared to challenge his wife and beat her that Stevie Wonder could see that.Biden accepted the nomination because it looks good on his resume but his allegiance is still to Bill and Hill so he says just enough to screw Obama but not totally cause he does want to be VP also.
  • Uh, with all due respect, I just don't see that.

Not the Bill Clinton hating on Obama -- that's pretty hard to deny. But Biden's heart not being in this race? I totally disagree.

Saying the new president will be tested is also pretty hard to deny. If you're not comfortable with Obama handling that test -- or McCain being the one to handle it -- then that's a sign of where your vote should go. But saying that Biden is trying to gently sabotage the campaign by pointing it out? I don't see it that way.
  • biden is famous for saying stupid things. i mean, great guy and all, but yeah. i don't think the clintons have anything to do with it.
  • I don't see the problem with what Biden said. It's a fact - presidents face challenges. It is a challenging job. Obama will be tested. Would you rather Biden try to tell you that the next four years will be smooth sailing? I like that he said it because it shows at least some degree of honesty. I also is encouraging to see a VP candidate who doesn't stick strictly to talking points.

I think it's worse that McCain is saying he's been tested and that he won't have to worry about enemies testing him. He supports this by saying he was a pilot during the Cuban missile crisis. I don't think being a pilot and following strict orders has any correlation with one's ability to give orders and/or make difficult decisions about plans of action.
  • You mean to suggest being a POW doesn't give you an education in how to operate a war and direct 150,000 troops?!?

    zomg!
  • I agree, the next president will be tested regardless, it was just the way biden worded it that i felt it was kind of a dumb ass move/slip of words on his part. oh well, i think obama has it clenched, one can only hope, its just there has been a few comments this election from biden since his VP nomination that have sort of made me think twice about the guy.
  • Overall I've been happy with him as the VP choice. He seems very qualified, especially on foreign policy which is my main interest.

As long as he doesn't say anything to ruin the election, I think he was a great choice.
