  • Terry, now I feel scared on top of feeling sick!!! I wish I spoke to you sooner. I waited a week to see him, I hope it's just fluid in the ear. Let you know later......debbie
  • HI DEB HOPE YOU ARE OK. FEEL BETTER :)
  • OMG Terry, how horrible. I don't trust any doctor and never have. When my father was sick, the doctor said that he had a hernia, since he had a lump. When he was going into surgery the doctor realized that all his glands were swollen. Diagnosis, Leukemia. He died at th VA within the week.

When my mother who had had a stroke and had cancer got ill one night, my sister called her cemo doctor and told her that my mother was vomiting for hours, and had the worst headache of her life, the doctor said to put her in bed to sleep. By morning she was in a coma with a massive stroke. She died after 26 days in the Methodist. There we had to fight them to take her off the respirator.

So I don't trust doctors and never will.

OMG, sorry for such a downer.

    Happy Halloween to all!!!

Glad to see that many of you responded with "getting to know each other".
I just thought this is something for the guys to participate in too. I think they are feeling a little left out.

  • I KNOW U HAVE TO BE YOUR OWN DOCTOR SOMETIMES. When David was sick in and out of hospitals chemo, radiation, ports etc etc. i became a very aggressive person. to watch someone die for 2 years is horrible. He was so strong he should have not lived that long but the kids kept him alive ME i almost put a pillow over his head. lol ONLY KIDDING. To be a caregiver is the hardest job ever bu I believe god gives u the strength to do it. I made sure he got everything he needed. I fought over tissues can u imagine a nurses aid saying I already =gave him a box but he had used them those little boxes u can blow your nose 3 times and they are gone. Well reported her and many others but guess what every single person that worked at lutheran and methodist loved him. They used to say thank God u are not our patient. lol
U can not imagine how many nurses and hospice people came to his funeral he was loved by so many people. David grew into a wonderful man considering the hard life he had as a kid. Well it was RFEAL TUFF FOR ME AND MY KIDS but everyone of us goes through this s__t or some other s__t.
GOD is good I have a good life good man and a wonderful family. It is not always a bed of roses but who cares we have to enjoy every day because it is a gift. I wish I could cut and paste the note I got from my friend that lost her college kid last week.It is on my email. It makes u put things into perspective. Anyway TODAY IS HALLOWEEN and we must enjoy ourselves.
    Love, Terry
  • GREENWOOD MEMORY,
I remember grace aND I AND SOME OF US KIDS WOULD GO TO THE GATES OF GREENWOOD ONNOV. 1 ALL SAINTS AND ON ALL SOULS DAY. WE WOULD SEE BOOKS AND STUFF NEAR THE TREES. We really believed as kids that the saints and souls were there at night and left those things. What imaginations we had OR maybe NOT.....love terry
  • GREAT IDEA JUDY,
HOW IS YOUR MOM SENT HER MY LOVE. UNCLE CHUBBY CALLED ME THE OTHER DAY TO SEE HOW I WAS DOING. I HOPE HE IS DOING BETTER HE CAN NOT GET OVER MY AUNT MARIE'S DEATH AT ALL. LOVE TERRY
I CAN NOT WAIT TO FIGURE OUT PHOTOBUCKET
  • Terry: One time we went into Greenwood and there was a mausoleum opened. On a lower shelf there was one of those old shaped (like mummy ones) coffins laying there and it had a corner pealed opened and there was hair sticking out. I guess someone was robbing graves ???? We ran out of there.
  • We also used to think that if we went to the cemetery at night on Halloween, we would see all the spirits flying around and mingling with each other.
  • Okay girls, you're freaking me out!!!!
  • By the way, the coffin
  • By the way, the coffin was small, so it was a child's that someone opened.
  • ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!!!!
I remember when burgarama ANOTHER MEMORY was there my dad was eating in there on his lunch and he heard kids saying that they had stolen skulls from graves. CRAZY i would be afraid that the people would haunt me after doing that. Another thing I remeMber is when they were working on 20th street underground they said there were coffins under the street because there was a stream under 2oth street and because of the hill from up 20th street near the cemetery the coffins would slide down. NOW i dont know how true this is but thats what i heard through the years. Love Terry

  • By the way, the coffin was small, so it was a child's that someone opened.
  • A doctor saved my life two times and I'm sure a doctor has saved many of your lives, as well. When I say "saved" what I really mean is "prolonged," since none of us can escape the grim reaper (this is Halloween after all). Medicine is an art as well as a science and finding the right doctor, like finding the right plumber, carpenter, electrician, or cook requires research, word-of-mouth, and personal experience. We've all had bad, some horrible, experiences with doctors, but we would all like one around if our appendixes burst.
Just had to give a shout-out to doctors, most of whom make our lives better.
Thank you. I am finished now.
  • Suzie: I missed you last night obviously, lol, and wished I had your phome number to call and check on you. Sorry, I am a worry wort.
  • take care for now....see you all lata!!
  • Yes Marilyn, it's true, but we both went through the experiences I mentioned above, and it was horrible. I still dream that Daddy is still alive somewhere in the hospital and it was just a cruel joke on the doctor's pary.!!
  • awww that was so nice....the first time someone worried about ME?

usually its my job ....to worry about everyone....(big smile)

I have your number already programmed in my cell.....lol

    lata gata!
  • Talk to you later Suzie ..................... Maybe unless I am worn out by the grandkids and trick or treating.
  • Yes, I also dream that Daddy is still alive. In the dreams I see him getting on a bus going in the opposite direction from me, or that I'm on a bus and I see him walking in the street. It's probably that he died so suddenly that it was and still is shocking.
  • Judy Giordano-Banjany I think that was a good idea you had, It is nice to know a little something about our fellow Park Slope neighbors.

    Well here is my story…..

    My Life:

I was born at the Methodist Hospital in Aug of 51
    My Father was John Gagliardi
    My Mother was Nettie Miele
I have one brother John Robert Gagliardi
Went to St John’s up to 6th grade, then transferred to PS 146.
Went to PS 10’s then John Jay HS
    I lived on 5th Avenue bet 21st & 22nd street for 35 year
Moved to Marlboro, NJ & live there for almost 20 years.
    I have one Daughter, Stacey 34 & 3 Step Grandchildren - Max 6, Julia, 3 and Scarlett 1.
I worked for AT&T for 24 years then retired, but really should still be working…
I live with my soul mate John
We live in beautiful Florida now & loving life, but I still miss the ways of the old neighborhood.

We had a language all our own, like Gravy (yes that is what we called in in my house), How about American bread vs. Italian bread. I think we were the only ones that called wonder bread American. No one else anywhere ever hung out on a stoop! Played Buck Buck, stoop ball & coco-leave-e-o (sp). Those were great times that only fortunate people can relate to.

We were very Blessed, and I thank God every day for that privilege… [-o<
Susie - I have (O-) Blood too, isn‘t it great that we can share with so many people… lol…...

    Love to all,

WOW! Burgerama! They had the best, best hamburgers. I had moved to 37th Street for a while and I went to the grammer school not far from Burgerama. It was P.S. 2__something. I can't remember. Can anyone help with that? Anyway, my mother worked in a bow factory near there so we would meet for lunch. Very fond and warm memories.
