thanksgiving dinner in the nabe

hi everyone -

so, my dad and i are orphaned this year, and are looking for a restaurant in the relative area in bk to have thanksgiving dinner.

now, my dad is a traditional guy - we're talking nothing too fancy, where he can understand the menu items and he can get himself a nice thanksgiving turkey dinner.

any ideas? i know iCi in ft greene is doing a prix-fixe pretty standard 3 course meal, but looking for other suggestions...

    I was just at Downtown Atlantic to purchase desserts and they were advertising a traditional meal with turkey, mashed potatoes, etc.

    james is doing thanksgiving... looks AMAZING... wanted to share even though it's more than i want to spend (looking at $50 pp max) and not quite up my dad's alley... wish i was going here:

    The diner on 7th Ave and 7th St (Purity Diner) has a sign up that they're having a thanksgiving meal. Don't know the details, but the sign has been up a week or so. They usually seem to have a crowd for breakfast.

    I had a great Christmas dinner at Magnolia last year. The family loved it and it was a great, warm feeling. They are doing Thanksgiving as well, so it should be nice, too.

    ahh that menu for magnolia looks delicious - i just called and they're totally booked, not taking any more reservations! :( it'll probably be a game-time decision. maybe check out beast or cheryl's global soul or tavern on dean...

    yep... most everything in the heights was closed...

    just got home... ended up going to a lovely place in the slope with a delicious $32 4-course meal. plus we ordered glasses of wine and some coffee with dessert, and they gave us complimentary limoncello to sip on at the end of the meal... spoke to the owner too, very sweet guy.
