Soda Bar Party — Brooklynian

Soda Bar Party

So my birthday is coming up in a little bit, and I was thinking about having all of my coworkers come to my part of Brooklyn, as well as my friends for drinks and dancing. I've had a blast dancing at Soda before, but had some questions. They don't have a website or any reviews I could find online of doing such a thing, so before going to talk to them there, I wanted to see if anyone had done this sort of thing before at Soda:

Is that back room rent-able? Or even part of it? How do you get a DJ to play? Do they just always have them? Or can you request there being one? Or do you provide one?

But most importantly, if you did this, what'd you think of it? Were people good to work with? Easy to manage/pay for?

Thanks!!

  • yes, you can rent out the back room, you could request a dj, but mainly they are already booked. On the window there is a schedule of things happening there
  • Subject: Be careful

I used to go to Soda, but after having been ripped off when the check came and having heard of several other people having the same experience, I don't go there any more. If you have a party there, keep track of what you drink and double check the gratuity. They tend to inflate both.
  • Yea tell everyone to try and drink on the way there, or buy from the bar... the waitresses are hot but on a busy night the service is ass
  • i used to dj at soda. good times, though i hope theyve since improved their soundsystem

anyway, if you rent that place, id happily dj your party in exchange for a beer every half hour or so... heh.
