who can remove a busted thermostat and hook up a new one?

It's cold out.

If you can recommend someone to call that would be great.

what kind of ther. Is it a round one (honeywell)?Do you have central AC using the same therm.

don't know the brand, it's not a cirlce it's sorta like this one

no central ac it operates a steam boiler.

its in another apartment so the soonest id be able to get in there is 7am

If you can get to the boiler you could jump a wire across the TT terminals. The voltage is low so no danger. Doing this would not hurt the boiler, but of course it would continue to run until you remove the jumper. If you want to bother I can talk you through it. I'll pm my number if you want to try. If not call Louis at 646 327 8109 tomorrow. A good handyman.
