I really don't like this because you have to email someone therefore they have your contact email and I'm not cool with all the lack of personal security. You know, I don't want random people with my email.
***But it's a really COOL idea. seriously, sounds like fun. -

Yea I can understand that. My first attempt was to let people post questions directly from the website. That was ok until people started spamming it, do I decided to make it email only for accountability purposes.

awesome idea. very much like that mobile service Cha Cha where you text a question and get an answer from a real person.
-
cha cha is a super idea (ask any question by sms and get a human response) but the implementation has been pretty worthless. It's like trying to communicate with outsourced customer service reps in Mumbai using faxed morse code.
Part of the problem is that cha cha fails at the most basic threading:
You: what is that little boutique hotel in midtown that starts with H?
Cha cha (10 min later): Hilton? (annoying SMS ad here!)
You: uh, no. Duh. I could have googled this on my iPhone by now.
Cha cha: cha cha does not understand your question. Please try again. -
Yea, Qu.estion.Me isn't going to great for that kind of question either. The kind of question that I think is good might be:
- What's the most creative thing you've ever done? Explain.
Who's your favorite artist? Why?
- What's the most creative thing you've ever done? Explain.
-
Alex, why would I want to hear an anonymous stranger's answer to those questions? Is this a prelude to a useful niche web service or more of an art project?
Also, no reply to my submitted question... :-( -
DH: Sorry you didn't get your reply

I saw the reply go out, maybe it's in your spam folder?
I don't think it's a very useful service, but it can be fun to play around with. Like I said, I see it as a time waster more than anything else.
I wanted to show an example, this turned out kind of gross:
Q: What's the nastiest thing you've ever seen? Explain.
A: I came across an auto accident. The driver had been ripped apart. I think the brains smashed along the pavement was probably the nastiest thing.
Howdy, Stranger!
