I'm taking the day off, going barhopping. OK, probably just going to two bars. The only 2 that matter. There used to be 3.

If you want to stay local, I know that Sepia on Underhill is doing something that night. I suspect most other places in the nabe will be doing something as well.
If you're willing to head into Manhattan, I also believe Drinking Liberally is having an event as well.

I have been looking for places to take my elementary students to watch. We don't have any TVs in the school, and though we could watch it streaming online via a projector, I feel it an occasion to share with the masses. Our school is in Harlem and I have contacted the Apollo to see if they were screening it (they did the debates) but mum's the word. Anyone know of any non-drinking affiliated, Manhattan-based watch parties?

The California dude beer bar is called Pacific Standard. It's on 4th Avenue.

I got this from MoveOn today:
Dear MoveOn member,
Got plans on Tuesday night?
I hope not, because you've been cordially invited to an Inaugural Bash in Brooklyn. Well, a few of them actually.

No matter which Inaugural Bash you choose, the important thing is that you'll be gathering with other progressives in your community who are fired up about Barack Obama's inauguration and ready to help get the change we elected Obama to deliver.
The grassroots energy that powered Obama's campaign isn't fading away. But we'll get back to the hard work of changing our country on Wednesday. On Tuesday, we're going to celebrate all we've achieved together.
