With all these places on Van. Do we really need bars on Washington?
YES! I live closer to Wash than Vandy. In this weather, you bet your holy ass I'd rather NOT go all the way to Vandy to get my unholy ass drunk.

Sephia on Underhill: A fine bar, and closer than Vandy.

Lincoln Place from Washington to Underhill is like the longest block in Brooklyn. Might as well saunter over to Vanderbilt by that point.

    Bars on Washington!!!!!

 Agree. It doesn't take much to reach for a cold beer in ones apartment.

  • well theres Homage and Franklin Park so Franklin has more bars than washington ave does right now.

Homage isn't a bar but 95 South is, so yes, Franklin has more bars than Washington.
  • is it named after The Commodore?

*EDIT* (i am really bad at photoshop)

  • the new place looks nice but it doesn't appear to be open yet. at least not regularly. when i was there a couple also showed up and i heard them telling someone that they had been there before (though maybe they meant noona) and were surprised to find it closed. also, their website makes explicit reference to The Commodore after which they are so obviously named.
  • Can someone please be creative and have a different type of bar than the fancy/expensive/cocktail bar? what about a dive bar since we only have one (Freddy's)
C'mon, I just want cheap beers and good atmosphere, I don't need fancy cocktails...

Well, there WILL be the Western-style bar opening across from Beast and Barrette soon (eventually). The vibe is supposed to be "down home and gritty."
  • Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice! that's what I need!
  • Is this western-style bar ever going to open? I've been hearing rumors about it for nearly a year. I hope it opens soon, though. If it's anything like Moonshine on Columbia Street, we're all in for a treat.
