    When I was there over the weekend there were seriously snipers on every building. We were playing "who can spot the most snipers on one block" but other passerbyers kept telling us to cool it.

    The guy who lead the prayer, Rick Warren, is the openly anti-gay mega church evangelist who compared homosexuality to incest and pedophilia. I didn't recognize the name of the reverend that followed Obama and made all the race rhymes.

    OK, it was Reverend Joseph Lowery who gave the benediction following Obama's speech.

    From NPR: Lowery co-founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., and he experienced segregation firsthand.

    Obama personally called Lowery to ask him to be part of the inaugural program.
    The 87-year-old Lowery has been a dominant presence in the civil rights movement for more than a half-century. He was born in Huntsville, Ala., began his civil rights work in the 1950s and worked for voting rights in the 1960s.

    After King's death, the Methodist minister continued to work for civil rights and may be best known for his outspoken nature and his ability to turn a phrase. He outraged some in 2006 when he read a poem at Coretta Scott King's funeral that indicted the Bush administration and criticized the Iraq war.
