ok, I like the guy. I campaigned in PA for him. I think his election is the best thing to happen to the country in a long time.

...but I can't get over what a "studly cool guy" the media has suddenly portrayed him as. I mean, let's be honest: He has been a geek his entire life. A skinny, Harvard educated, policy type guy with a law degree.

This is probably the first time he has felt cool in his life.

I still like him, but the power of the media (as well as people's own minds) to create an image, one that is desperately needed and wanted is just amazing.

Note this isn't a commentary on his ability to solve America's problems (that's a different thread). This is a commentary on him suddenly being the sexiest man alive. How does one go from geek to sex symbol? ...at least the folks elevated by People were somewhat cool/good looking before the world was told they were "it".

I now will sit back and prepare to be assaulted as if I insulted someone's deity.

BTW I think Em would make an amazing mom, I also met this summer the evil spawn that she speaks of and I know Em loves her. She was cute, but feisty.
