violinist/violist at 7th ave BQ stop this morning

Hey- Do you remember that article from a year or two ago about the famous violinist who played in the subway and almost nobody noticed? Maybe he's back and he brought that maple syrup smell with him.

Hey Alex--we'd like to think that, but I bet we'd be wrong. Maybe a subway full of NY kids would do better though.

I genuinely think that New Yorkers would be more discerning than Washingtonians in this situation. I went to college in D.C., and the city is not the cultural haven that article pretends it is. Performing arts-wise, it's got the Kennedy Center and...the Kennedy Center. New York is a whole different animal--and subway/street performing is much more part of the city's fabric up here than it is down there.
