recommendation for a dry cleaner for a down comforter?

i don't have any referrals for a dry cleaner for this purpose, but...
if you're willing to do it yourself, you only need to wash it in cold water with a mild detergent. either line dry in the sun (in the summer, of course) or cool setting in a dryer. -
Yeah, I wash both of mine all the time and it's totally cool. Two important things: 1) DON'T under any circumstances use fabric softener (it causes the feathers to stick together and they won't dry) and 2) put a clean tennis ball in the dryer with the comforter to provide some loft to the feathers.
I used to take them to the cleaners years ago, but it was way too expensive and never seemed to really work. -
thanks, all. i'll give washing it myself a whirl.

Yes these are important! If you don't have tennis balls, just take it out and shake it well every so often to loosen the down clumps that will form. -
and make sure you dry it EXTRA, so the down don't mildew
p.s. LOVE your photos threecee! -
pitu: glad you like my work!

you guys doing this in a regular washing machine or taking it to the laundromat and using a jumbo? I need to wash it too.
-
i do. of course, it depends on the size of your comforter and your washer and dryer. but the bigger the better, so it can get cleaned well and has room to expand during drying.

call Bubbleworks they pick up and deliver ( not related in any way just a satisfied customer) they can do washing or dry cleaning Washing is better for down as the chemicals stay in teh feathers for a long time
