Filming at the Brooklyn Museum — Brooklynian

Filming at the Brooklyn Museum

edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
When I passed the museum this morning, the area was closed for what looked like a film shoot. There were a bunch of guys in military uniforms/assault rifles/helmets/etc lined up behind sandbags along the steps of the museum.

Anyone know what this was for?

  • That show looks pretty cool. And the producer of Heroes, the director of I Am Legend. I can't wait to check it out.
  • anyone get any pics?
  • I saw the promo for this a few weeks ago. They made the museum look like a huge government-type building and the background had been CGI'd. They also CGI'd a HUGE crowd down below....Funny, cause I was thinking that if they had actually done that, there'd be all these people standing on Eastern Parkway causing a ruckus.
  • yes, it was a little fake protest. They also had the place decorated with lots of the orange flags you see on the above site.
  • Defend Brooklyn.
  • Emmaviz posted a link to this story in the lounge.

That is exactly what I saw this morning!
  • I was so excited when I figured out it was Kings!

I saw them filming last Spring and it was driving me NUTS cause I couldn't figure out what it was. And then the other day I saw the orange banners with the butterflies and was so excited that I finally figured it out.

It wasn't posted last Spring for some reason, but this site is really helpful:

  • looks like they'll be back tomorrow-- they left most of their stuff there overnight, and the banners are still attached to the front of the building. Some people are hanging out in a Uhaul van overnight to watch it.
  • Damn! I thought we were invading Park Slope. :D
  • dude, Park Slope has been invading us for the past five years!
  • Did anyone notice that a new commercial for the anti-cholestoral drug Plavix was filmed in the lobby and the exhibition halls of the Brooklyn Museum? The footage consists of a guy touring the Museum who is followed by an ambulance gurney because he's at risk for a heart attack, etc.
  • There was a Lipitor one a few years back too.
