dog locked in parked car? cold night!

edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
i was just walking down the south side of prospect place, about halfway between vanderbilt and underhill. there's a rather beat up looking car parked in front of the distinctively orange suv that's always parked around prospect. a dog's barking like crazy in the back seat. i could be jumping to conclusions, but from the look of the car and the dog's freaking out, i took it to be animal abandonment.

if anyone lives around there and can write down the license plate number, you can report it to the aspca. i hope someone let's the critter in soon, because no one official would be able to help him for 24-48 hours.

  • A friend of mine came across a similar scenario last year but it was in Crown Heights. She called the local precinct directly and the police responded and got the 2 dogs out of the vehicle. Can you call that local precinct and report this?
  • I'll walk by later, around 11. Hopefully the owner is in a nearby building and decided to leave his dog in the car for some reason. ..and wlll have returned for the dog and/or car by then.

    What kind of dog?

Update: Dude and I did not see a "dog in a rundown car" at the above location. ...and can report that only 2 cars met our definition of "run down".
  • just call me a worrywort. the car and dog were gone by 10pm.
  • Whew, good news! =D>
