Cato Farms, at the GAP farmers market Saturday:
crazy good cheese.
-
For local cheese, I love Old Chatham. Their ewe's blue and camembert are sooo good, and it was fun to visit their farm. It is also pretty easy to find around here.

I don't know why I've never tried their cheese -- they even sell it at the Coop.
What's the farm visit like? I think I drove past it last summer -- near the Shaker museum.
(mmmmm, shaker furniture and local cheeeeeeeeese. There's a bench in there that's 20' long and beautiful) -
Very friendly, the farm is pretty, and they'll show you all the cute sheepies. Samples are to be had. Not really worth going way out of your way for, but if you're in the area it is a fun place to visit. I don't think they had formal hours, so most reasonable times during the day should be fine.
