Anybody use the mobile dog grooming wagon?

A flyer was left on my door . . . sounds like a good idea, bringing a grooming truck to me instead of me bringing the dog somewhere. Dog needs nail trimming....

Anybody use these people?

or, if you are in love with some other dog nail trimming magician, for my medium big dog, pls suggest. The home game is not working for me - fekking clippers, ack!

  • Did the flyer include a price list? Wondering what they'd charge for, say, small dog nail clipping.
  • Nope, just a coupon, like the website.
How much does this usually cost at a groomers?
  • I got a coupon from that place at Smith Pet Foods. Haven't used it and don't know how much they charge. They advertised one free grooming session if you signed up for a package of sessions. I'm leery of signing up for a package, so we ended up getting our puppy groomed (shampoo, ears cleaned, nails clipped) for $30 by Laura Gil in Carroll Gardens which seems very reasonable and she did a good job.
  • I think I paid around $15 for just the nail clipping at Paws in Paradise. The people were quite nice. I just always feel like I get ripped off with nail clipping because my dog wears down her back nails naturally, and her quick is long in the front nails (they're see-through, which helps when I try at home), so they only cut off a tiny bit each time...

I got a flyer a month ago and stuck it on the fridge, I finally called.
They parked in front of the house and I brought each dog out one at a time,
Jake is very skidish, the groomer worked some magic, he was so happy
    When she finished.
The groomer and the service were amazing!!! I booked their next appointment on the spot.

    :D
  • thanks woofwoof - glad to hear it.
how much was it, and what did you get done? I'm looking for nails...
  • Hi Pitu,
I payed $140 for both my large dogs, they got the works,
nails, bath, blow dry, ears and a trim, she even trimmed their under paws
so they would not slip so much on the hardwood floors.
The boys were fluffy, clean smelling and happy. I hope this helps.
  • I wonder if I could do this to our neighbors hyper-active pug that keeps wandering on our fence...

  • I just sent them an email to make an appt. Hopefully, I'll be able to report back soon on cost (for a short haired dog that doesn't need a trim at least) and whether or not the O-meister was happy.
  • Oscar is currently in the mobile grooming van as I type. They give you a punch card, after 9 grooms, the 10th is free. It's pricey. With tax, it's going to cost me about 90 bucks. He gets a bath, a massage (huh?), nail clipping, ear cleaning, blow dry and a brush (which he doesn't really need).
  • My super hairy dog is entering full shed of the undercoat season...I wonder how thoroughly they would brush him? Or any groomer for that matter.
  • For a once in a blue moon splurge, totally worth it. He even tried to climb back in the van and watched longingly as the groomer pulled away. He's squeaky clean, his nails are perfectly trimmed and his ears are gleaming. YAY!

OQ, I'd call them and explain the situation. Stress that you expect a thorough brushing. I'm sure they'd accommodate you - albeit for a price.
