Brooklyn Museum: Museums Struggling due to Recession

not to belittle their problems, which are serious, but it's too easy, and often wrong, to blame all bad economic news on the recession. the bma has been struggling for several years at least, and has had to make cutbacks before ( i think there were some layoffs several years ago). then the city cut its funding by a third last year -- that was before the recession.
