Cherry blossoms!
The cherry blossoms are blooming and it's free Tuesday at the BBG: http://www.bbg.org/exp/cherries/map.html
Depending on how much it rains tonight/tomorrow, they may not be around for long

I want to do this.
-
also thats crazy, I checked yesterday morning and the map said that they weren't blooming yet
-
Yup. They close at 6PM, but I predict that I'll come down with swine flu promptly at 4:30P and have to leave work.
-
They close at 6?! that sucks. I wanna gooo but I def cannot make it there with any reasonable amount of time. I'd bet there will still be petals this weekend though unless its like hurricaning outside
-
And my new pup has silently vowed to eat all of them. [-X Down boy.
Fear not, pets not allowed (hee). -
Are there any doctors reading this blog who could write us all notes so we can leave work early?

I was thinking about having my mom call me out sick. -
Well , shit , I ain't got nothing to do and live down the street. I guess I'll go charge my camera's battery and go check this out today.
Anyone interested in coming with , I'll be heading up there at 4ish. -
I checked the online map on Sunday and none of the trees in the main "concourse" were even slightly in bloom. It's so funny how cherry trees bloom so quickly and then it's over with so fast. (There's a sexual analogy in there, somewhere.) ;-)
-
The online map is wrong. I was there on Sunday and the trees in the concourse were approaching full bloom. Not quite there yet, but beautiful nevertheless.

I'll be at the GAP Library getting some writing done, but I might need a break by then. Call me when/if you're heading over.

I promise to have my phone with me this time! -

I'll imidate your dad and call. ...then I'll pick you up in a Ferrari. It'll be just like Farris Bueller's day off. -
My plan was to go this weekend for the festival... but there is rain thunderstorms in the forecast for Saturday.
-
Em and I just went. It was awesome- best I've ever seen it. The blossoms are definitely at their peak right now.
Em will be posting pics soon. -
-
Gorgeous pics, thanks for sharing.
-
Wow, beautiful pics - thanks Em!
I checked the map yesterday and it had most of the trees in full bloom. If I wasn't at work, I would have gone. But, I have Friday off and if it's nice out, I am going! -
-
Were people picnic-drinking?
-
Is it too late to see the blossoms?? anyone know if it's worth it go tomorrow?
-
They'll definitely still be out. I think the advantage of Tuesday was that it was free. It might rain tomorrow though. And it's definitely supposed to rain on Saturday.
-
Mamacita, if it rains tomoroow, I am gonna go to Greenwood Cemetary to see some Cherry Blossoms - it's freeeeeeeeeeeeee! You know what free rhymes with? Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!
Howdy, Stranger!
