You can't possibly be serious. Why would anyone think I was talking about Marion Barry. You should know Obama used to go by the name Barry. And it's laughable at best to tell me I'm showing disrespect after 8 years of liberals calling President Bush all sorts of despicable names.
  • BG, don't bring facts into this!
  • I guess this thread is over. :(

You seriously keep yammering on about the teleprompter bullshit after keeping silent through 8 years of this?
  • Carni-
Thanks for the chuckles. I just finished reading the somewhat scrambled, but worth at least a skim, "The Man who Owns the News", by Michael Woolf about Mr. Big, aka Murdoch. (Woolf's Newser's mantra is "Read less, know more", so I doubt he'll mind if you skim.) I totally agree that the hysteria over this photo-op screams Murdochian tabloid news.

What? Wait...are you insinuating....oh my god, is it true? A politician who delivers an uncountable number of speeches uses a teleprompter?! He doesn't keep it all in his head?!?!

My faith in our president...in our entire democracy is shattered...destroyed...I mean, the torture, the lies about the war, the collapse of our economy, the cover-ups, the domestic spying, the entire last eight years in fact, all these I've managed to ignore, but this....this speechy looky box thing, that's the last straw.

I have many, many problems with the man I voted for, as well as more than a few positive reactions to stuff he's done, which I'd be more than happy to discuss with conservatives if they all didn't immediately begin devolving into frothing mad dogs, barking: OMG! TEABAGS! TAXES! TELEPROMPTER! BIRTH CERTIFICATE!

The pissy, snickering, code-pink ridiculousness wasn't attractive when the liberals did it either you know.
