Sweet, smart male blue-nose pitbull seeking permanent home!

Meet Bobby, a sweet young thing rescued after being abandoned - chained to a fence in the rain, with a bowl of soggy food, in upper Manhattan. When ACC got Bobby, he had conjunctivitis and pneumonia, and we managed to get him out of the pound and into intensive care at the vet. We're fostering him now here in Prospect Heights as he recovers, until he's well enough to go back to the vet to get neutered. We think that will be next week, after which Bobby needs a permanent home!



The vet thinks he's between 2 and 4 years old - I think he's on the younger end of that, as he's very puppyish, now that he's feeling better. He can be a bit rambunctious, and will definitely need an owner who has experience with such a big dog. Right now, he's about 65-70 pounds, and he will probably put on another 15-20 as he gets healthier.



Bobby is very sweet, and likes nothing better than snuggling with his humans or laying at your feet, chewing a rawhide. He is not at all aggressive, but he's very big and curious, so he needs an owner who can be dominant when he's out for walks - his manners could use some improvement (he's a bit of a jumper). But he knows "sit" and "no" and is perfectly housetrained. He's being crate trained right now, and is content to chill out in the crate while you're out for a few hours. He loves to meet other dogs, big and small, and once he's neutered, we're hoping he'll curb his, um, amorousness a bit.
