Need Honest Mechanic in Neighborhood
Comments

I've been going to Nok Auto on St. Mark's between Washington and Underhill, based on recommendations on this board.
Mostly just oil changes and inspection, but also for a larger problem (EGR valve, sensor thingie). It was only slightly more expensive than what I would expect to pay my long-time mechanic in Pennsylvania, and that's probably because they used OEM parts. -
I go to Mario's on Washington and Dean. Ask for Mario or Gary, good guys.

We used to have our "go to guy" in Atlas, which wound up getting Ratnered out by Dean and Vanderbilt. Those guys wound up setting up shop on Atlantic Ave. and Brooklyn Ave. at Precision Auto. When they wound up leaving there, we got to know the owner of Precision Auto, Eric, who's turned out to be a great, stand-up guy. It's not in the neighborhood, but we wouldn't take our car anywhere else, at this point.

went to Rohan at Mok on St MArks. a good good guy and very reasonable...btw he does a complete oil change including checking all fluids and changing filters for $30.
highly reccommend. -
does anyone have a recommendation for motorcycle inspection in the neighborhood?

I go to Brooklyn Harley, 3449 Ft. Hamilton Parkway between Chester and 36th street, 717-851-6666. There is also Prospect Cycles at 457 Coney Island Ave off of Church Ave. (718) 462-5580. Both are just on the other side of the park. I think Prospect wants you to make appt., BH just took care of me when I showed up at 10am when they opened. Hope that helps...
... we should get together for a Sunday ride some day. 8) -
