he needs to STFU already. All of the press he's getting makes me think he's going to run for some sort of office.
he came out in support of gay marriage and during a speech he was talking about his gay daughter (who is with a long term partner and they have a kid together) and he said "having a gay daughter is something i have been dealing with for a long time now". Um....ok.....how's it going for ya, Dick? -
he might be trying to tell the world, "I was doing what George told me to do"
...having an idiot for a boss is no excuse. -
http://dir.salon.com/story/politics/war_room/2005/09/06/cheney/
Remember when people were convinced he was dead because he was never seen? Turns out that he is quiet only when he is in power and therefore, every idiot's favorite tag now, "accountable".
Why is he being allowed to dominate the political conversation now? -

Or he's an alien, not that there's anything wrong with that or his gay daughter. -

aliens are people too!
...or something. -
If he ever leaves this country he should be immediately arrested for war crimes and executed on Global TV while the Beatles "All You Need Is Love" plays in the background.

True dat. -
Cheney constantly makes me wonder how horribly incorrect a politician has to be and how much a politician has to hurt our country in order to actually lose an ounce of creditability with the mainstream media.
This is a man who's life achievement is the Iraq War and NOT catching Osama bin Laden and yet networks still interview him on national security issues. I mean, really? Next are they going to interview Eliott Spitzer on marriage fidelity? -
Hey, they're still interviewing Bill Clinton, too - I seem to remember him saying something about Iraq's WMD's... Oh, and Diane Feinstein, Tom Daschile, John Kerry..
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/b/bushlied.htm
If you think the 'left stated this all along' - you're probably one of those types who gets their news solely from comedy shows, and also think Sarah Palin actually said 'I can see Russia from my house'. -
Much as I think Bush/Cheney should be indicted for Iraq, I want to remind everyone that their are a ton of turn-coat democrats who voted with Bush/Cheney to invade Iraq even though they knew better.

Well, I wouldn't consider Time magazine to be on the left and the following is a report from them from the past. Can't say that I know who the Christian minister that writes the truthorfiction site is, so I don't know what to say about that link.

Here's to hoping that the Cheney father/daughter full court press is coming to an end. I'm sure the nitwits who get their news solely from Fox have already absorbed the message and are mindlessly passing it on already, god love them. -

The Iraq Debacle was Cheney's personal and obsessive mission. Do not try to equate the culpability and reputation of various Democratic leaders with Cheney when it comes to Iraq and national 'defense'.

And since I know you're concerned, indeed I hold responsible all Democrats who fell for, parroted and facilitated Cheney's distortions and lies.If you think the 'left stated this all along' - you're probably one of those types who gets their news solely from comedy shows, and also think Sarah Palin actually said 'I can see Russia from my house'.
poor attempt to attack a mindless generalization. let's stick to the topic(s) at hand. -

If the info above is accurate, that's quite a blitz and that's only the daughter. I wonder if we'll be hearing Dick and family's spin when we revisit the wartime contracting issue this week in the news. Go KBR and Halliburton! -
Hmm, so Cheney supports gay marriage and Barry is against gay marriage and ya'll are bitchin?

Unfortunately, I don't think that bringing up these quotes is going to in any way absolve Dick Cheney. The way you are presenting it here, it sounds as if the Dem's were trying to push us into an invasion of Iraq from 1998 on.
It was the Bush/Cheney administration that got us into this war and it was the Bush/Cheney administration that bungled the entire thing right from the beginning and no amount of spin is going to change that truth. -

eggcream wrote: Hmm, so Cheney supports gay marriage and Barry is against gay marriage and ya'll are bitchin?
no, he doesn't. he NOW (that he has no power) says it's a matter for the states.
that's not enough, since some of the most important marriage benefits are federal -- immigration, for instance -- and since DOMA says states don't have to recognize marriages legal in other states, which leaves couples who cross state lines unprotected in a few hundred other ways.
to be fair, obama is also not great on this issue. it sucks, but since i have yet to find a perfect politician, i'll stick with his version of imperfection. -

Yep, lots of Democrats enjoyed demagoguery about Saddam over the years. Lots of Democrats also voted for the Iraq War and it will be a long time before I forgive them.
That being said, it is completely unreasonable to equate the actions of all these Dems with what Dick Cheney did in order to get us into a criminally mismanaged war in Iraq.
Cheney had his 8 years and his foreign policy ideas were a complete failure on virtually every front. Bill Clinton and Eliot Spitzer wouldn't be on a marriage discussion panel, neither should Dick Cheney ever be asked what he thinks about foreign policy. -

Ok then, Eggcream. I was worried you were going to say stoning.
That's a joke.
Another joke? Liz Cheney was on CNN again yesterday promoting the idea that the US justice system is not equiped to house and prosecute terrorists. Sorry. There isn't really anything funny about that. Maybe the networks could offer her her own talk show? She could yak about her favorite subjects presidential powers in wartime and her own family's awesome power. This chick makes me sick. -
The argument that the US Justice System can't handle prosecuting these suspects is horribly ignorant as well as a demonstrative lie.
Par for the course when a Cheney is talking about 'terr-ists' I suppose. -
Good Op-Ed by Gail Collins, "When Did Cowboys Get Wimpy" about how Montanans are freaking out about the fact that they might have to house some Guatanamo detainees in Montana and comparing them to New Yorkers who go about their business even though we've had several terrorist-related trials in Manhattan. Funny:

Enjoyed "When Did Cowbos Get Wimpy" very much, Danielle.
