Teens skulking around backyards - Underhill / St. Marks
I'm posting this because of the rash of backyard break ins on the block between Prospect, St Mark's, Underhill, and Vanderbilt.
Tonight (8ish) Mrs. quig spotted two teens (late teens) crossing our neighbor's backyard. Location - the area between Prospect and St. Mark closer to Underhill. This is not a lot that is accessible from the street (backyards only) They were moving fast and jumped on to the garage (St. Marks)
I got a pretty good look at one of them: 6' thin, very dark skinned African American with an overbite with thick black framed glasses. He was wearing a bright aqua blue polo and carrying a backpack. His friend was wearing a dark shirt and also carrying a backpack.
About 10 min. later I flagged down a cop and gave them my story.

I'm guessing they were black teens, right?? African Americans can be many different colors.

Wow! That response was the equivalent of bringing paper plates to a pot-luck.
-
yeah, Joseph, why do you need to be a jerk? Thanks for the heads-up, Quig.

I agree. It's typical for posters on this board to have such a reaction whenever someone mentions crime and race in the same sentence. Even if you'd seen a man murdering someone else, most members of the Brooklynian community would prefer that you remain silent about race if the perp happens to be black.

thats why most news wouldn't mention race if the suspect is black, but would mention everyone else race, which makes it kinda stupid cause they would be describing everyone else who it isnt.

True. They also act confrontational on message boards and enjoy rabble rousing in the ether.

Hey, we'll have none of that "you people" talk around here.
...such stereotyping.
(this would be sarcasm) -
Ok me and Underhill are going to set up our ipod playlists and drink wine in Quigs backyard. Of course, Quig is invited. I have a feeling he's got some Psychedelic Furs in his vinyl collection :P

sKulking, not sulking.
definition of skulk
•lurk: lie in wait, lie in ambush, behave in a sneaky and secretive manner
•malinger: avoid responsibilities and duties, e.g., by pretending to be ill
•move stealthily; "The lonely man skulks down the main street all day -
