EVO Dog Food — Brooklynian

I'm in the process of switching my morkie to EVO small bites dog food. I've been told by several people that it's very good...but there have been a couple of people who disagreed. Does anyone have any experience w/ this dog food? If so, please share.

    There a million and one kinds of dog food out there. Let your dog have what works best for him - not what is necessarily the most expensive. My boxer is allergic to everything. I was spending a ton of money on food for him (Wellness, Evo, Innova, Eagle Pack, etc.) and what ended up being the best thing was plain ol' pedigree lamb & rice.

    That being said, ingredients-wise, Evo is a good food and he should do well on it.

    Thanks guys!!! My little guy seems to like EVO very much. I've been mixing EVO with his old food, so the transition will be easier on his stomach, but he tends to pick out all the EVO food and avoids the old food.

    I think EVO is a great food. It is one of the highest protein formulas around and grain free, two things that I support in a dog food. The protein is almost double what is in other foods, and even significantly higher than other grain-free foods. I was giving my Jack Russell the red meat large bites (they weren't too big, gave her something to crunch) formula and she did really well on it. I'd still have her on it if it weren't for the fact that she had really really fishy breath from the herring oil in it. I mean, knock you out from a foot away fishy.

    I just looked up the formulas and noticed that the regular formula (the one I assume your dog is on) uses herring meal instead of herring oil. Is your morkie getting fishy breath? Maybe I'll give the regular a try.
