  • I love the Hudson. The rooms are tiny but the sheets are heavenly. The Library Bar is a nice place to hang out for a drink.
  • the Giraffe has a great rooftop bar

I've never stayed there, but I agree about The Library.

Friends of mine stayed at the W several years ago and liked it a lot.
  • Does it have to be in NY? Ok.

My favorite is the Parker Meridian. Mmmmmm....
  • Pleasant Stay Hotel - Classon & Fulton.
  • Sofitel. Anywhere.
  • Check out the new Standard Hotel

Or the Fairmont in San Francisco
  • Fairmont is fun.....

I've been to so many damn hotels, it's hard to remember them all.

I did like staying at the Monaco in SF - not because it was super fancy, but because the service was amazing. They always remembered me, what I like/dislike in a room, brought me a fish to keep me company...
  • Thanks for the tips everyone and yes, NYC.
I have The Library and The Giraffe bookmarked and will check out the others.
  • When I did some work at Credit Suisse nearby, I had some food and drinks on the roof of the Giraffe a few times. I never saw the rooms, but have some friends who stayed their frequently

  • Ah...those photos reminded me that I've also been to their wine and cheese happy hour in their lounge.
  • Royalton is pretty nice - they have soaking tub, fireplaces - nice for midtown. The Bar there (think its called 44) made some KILLER vodka martinis. I think the rooms are around $350. Not sure what part of the area you are looking for. Soho? CP?
  • yep, Royalton/44 are nice....Good lounge/bar
