  • I think it was actually even posted on this board!
  • Yup, just got back from the 42-mile journey. My thighs feel like well-bruised steak.

    fire up the grill!
  • yes, it was also the 16th annual brooklyn biathlon in prospect park. it started at 8am this morning and i finished at 9:20 or so..

it used to be the biggest biathlon in the us, up to 600 contestants.

There was also a cinco de mayo race in Park at 11am. It was a busy race weekend for athletes. I personally took home a medal in a USATF 5 mile race in Summit New Jersey :) I wanted to do the duathlon in PPark, but couldn't be in two places at once. boo.
  • Our biathlon is different from the winter olympics version, I'm guessing.

Seems like everyone in the city has a bike tour traffic related horror story. If you're not in it, you're cursing it.

Dave, I swear I saw you on PPW Friday - either that or your glasses are getting popular. I woulda said something, but a) I was unloading the kid from a friend's car, and b) If I was wrong, saying "Hey, are you kosherdave?" to a stranger would make me feel pretty goofy.
  • I look at it like this: The cars have the road for 364 and three-fourth days of the year. If drivers complain about six hours of inconvenience, well, tough luck, bub. Have you heard about our dear friend Mass Transit? I hear he gets around in NYC.
  • Well, you forgot about the marathon, various parades, and so on.

Hell, I don't even own a car anymore. Not worth the bother, and except for the one incident years ago, I merely relate the feelings of people who do need to drive for whatever reason.

Far as I'm concerned, throw on the spandex and air it out.

bro i love mass transit! the thing piss me off isnt the bike riders or the closing. its the not knowing. i didnt hear anything on the news, till the highway i was behind was close! i turn on the radio news and it goes today blah blah blah blah 5 borough bike tour blah blah. and than for the next few hrs i had to wait around areas for the bikes to clear out.

I make my living driving around nyc transporting items. if i known i would of gone to the park for a walk and not taken jobs.

Well, I live on PPW, and was out and about on Friday, so chances are good, next time give a shout! :)
