(Another) Tech Question

So, after getting a new HD for my laptop and reinstalling Office 2007, I am getting a pop up every few minutes in Outlook saying "Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the following: 62 (1032). That mail is currently not available". I know this has something to do with my AOL account, as the send./receive gets stuck on "synchronizing subscribed folders". I don't know what folders this is trying to access - I don't subscribe to anything and it doesn't happen on my other laptop.

Any ideas?

Best thing to do would be to uninstall Outlook.

Shot in the dark, but hey, it's 1:36am so what isn't in the dark right now...

I've seen this happen sometimes when an AOL IMAP folder has a corrupted message in it. Outlook polls to see how many messages are in the folders, then barfs on the bad one(s) where headers or message contents are b0rked.

So here's a wild goose chase for ya, why not.

Go into AOL's web interface and try creating new folders and transferring existing messages into the new folders. Then delete the old folders, and rename the new ones back to the original folder names if ya want.

Corrupted messages apparently can't be copied to new folders, so the new folders hopefully will be clean and allow Outlook to synch sans barf.

Or something like that.

Ha...it's the AOL account I have had for FOURTEEN years. It's the one I use when I need to register for anything and just in case any long-lost friends only have that address. My main stuff goes to gmail :-)

Jeffrey, when I have sufficient patience, I will try your suggestion (it might be a while...ha)
