The disturbing factor is that the kid was fully naked while he was pissing against the tree.. at least the grown ups weren't exposing themselves to the world at the same time. -
Mr. Met is a public-pisser sympathizer in those other threads as well.
haha
what the hell is going on?He seems to be an avid defender of this barbaric behavior. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he too guards his kids while they piss all over the sidewalks!

Sometimes doing the right thing in life isn't always the easiest - this logic fails to make the act of a child being hit acceptable by my standards.
Hey brooklynian- have you ever tried to get a parent to stop hitting their kid? Doesn't go over very well, I can assure you. No, I've not done it myself but know people who were blatantly told to "mind their own fucking business" when they've tried in intervene. You talk a big talk, do you walk the walk?
To assume someone smacking a kid is their parent fails to acknowledge the possibility they are a nanny or other trusted person who is doing this behind the parents back. I feel sorry for the kid who was being hit as you just watched and walked away.
Never answered my question- what have YOU done when you've witnessed a parent/nanny/green boogy monster hit a child? -

In NYC it is a violation of 16-118(6), public urination.. it is a crime.
2. These people allowed their kid to do something that he shouldn’t have done but they didn’t commit any crime. I’ve seen worse things like a homeless guy shitting on the 7th ave Q station…THAT’S GROSS!
Call the cops then... -

Two years ago I was a supermarket in my old neighborhood when I saw a child dropped a closed bag of chips on the floor. The parent shouted at the kid saying "what the f* is the matter with you" while proceeding to smack the child across the face. I was in horror! The kid was sitting there crying.. I told the kid it was alright, and asked what the problem was with the adult. Yeah, it began an argument in the store and words were exchanged. About 45 seconds into it, the kids mom showed up who was apparently shopping for groceries while the nanny was watching the kid. The mom was horrified at what happened and told the nanny she'd never lay another hand on the kid and that she was lucky she wasn't going to press charges. I assume she was fired by the way the drama unfolded.

You can sit back and ignore things around you, thats fine.. that's your nature. Myself? I can't stand to see a helpless child be hit. -

Was his name Butters?
Did anyone who was so offended by this CHILD ever call the cops? If so, I feel sorry for you. -
Jay-walking is a crime. Littering is a crime. Going 31 mph on a NYC street is a crime. Double parking or parking next to a hydrant is a crime. Riding your bike without a bell and light is a crime.
You've got your work cut out for you!
No one pisses in the street or lets their kid piss in the street unless it's a last resort. Unless you see a repeat offender, cut them some slack! This isn't the same as seeing someone abusing a child. -
I just saw a 4 year old kid slap his mother. What do I do?!
He continued walking down the street towards Franklin with an unleashed pit bull. He then took a fully naked piss outside Nam's, and kicked his dog in the head for not waiting for him.

You are not a lawyer and you are wrong. Smacking a child is illegal, go ask Ichan Christian who was arrested last year in staten island for smacking his kid.
a smack is not illegal. you cannot hit a kid WITH another object nor can you hit to leave a mark. but a spanking or a slap is not illegal. is it what i will do with my kid? no way. but i see it all the time, and that is that parent's choice. until it is a BEATING,...then i'll do/say something.
Ichan Christian didn't smack his kid, he smacked his girlfriend's kid. Also, he left bruises and scratches on his victim's face which xlizellx already acknowledged was illegal, so you've not at all refuted his or her claim that it is legal to spank or smack one's child. I myself am unsure of the legal status of such behavior; could you please link to the law in question? -

i'm going to have to agree with booklynian on this one... because for me walking from just underhill to the 2/3 train at GAP, this parent(s) & pissing child scene has gotten out of control. i have been seeing boy & girl children pissing on the sidewalk on a more regular basis. perhaps because i leave for work just after the morning rush hour? who knows. but it's kind of gross and furthermore, this is brooklyn: walk across the street, buy a small coffee/tea, use a cafe bathroom.
-
oh man... i agree that this is kind of gross and shouldn't be happening, but the OUTRAGE here is hilarious.
and how did the topic get onto beating kids? kid peeing and getting beat are 2 different ballparks.
lighten up : ) -
I heard the tree really liked it.

prospectheightsyo wrote: It is. I suggest there be a public watch on Vanderbilt Avenue this weekend. Methinks this kid will probably mark the same tree. I will have my cell phone handy with the police on speed dial.
Ah yes! I was planning on hanging out w/some friends and family but this sounds like a much better way to spend the weekend! -

Oh wow- so ONCE you witnessed a person who wasn't the parent hit a child. Well, good for you, you earned your angel wings. For the record, I never said that I sat back and did nothing (I was talking about the experiences I've heard about), so don't go talking shit about people you don't know. You don't know shit about my nature. -
You know, I don't ever want to see a naked child do anything.

If you want to get up on your furniture behind closed doors to pee on something such as your dog, don't come crying to me when it bites you where it hurts.
If you want to pee on objects like a dog, feel free to do it on your furniture, behind closed doors. -

Still traumatized after that birth video they showed you in school? The world's most advanced medical technology coupled with the West's most puritanical mores are yet to succeed in finding a way for a child to leave the womb fully clothed. -

It's kind of gross that unlike in most large cities in civilized nations, New York doesn't provide public coin-operated self-cleaning conveniences at regular intervals in the street, and people are forced to beg at private establishments. -

Thankfully, I'll never be going through that experience. As for birth videos? I went to public school in NY in the eighties, I don't remember having any sex ed classes. I still don't want to see random naked strangers when I'm walking down the street, kids or adults. -
I would be severely disappointed if New York City did not smell like pee.
Its part of the essence.

Glad to see some sensible people agree with me.

2 pages, nice.
Seriously, a naked 120lb dog the size of an adult takes a steaming shit in the middle of the block on Vanderbilt. It's human companion crouches down and with a plastic bag over his/her hand scoops up this large, smelly, hot turd and chucks the shit-filled thin plastic bag into a public trashcan. A little further on, same giant dog unleashes an epic stream of yellow dog piss against a tree.
The world looks on and no one cares.
Naked 35lb human being pisses against a tree on Vanderbilt - outrage. -
People can go online and cry about some little kid peeing in the street when as many people pointed out, dogs do it all the time. GET OVER IT.
And on the topic of slapping kids around... That is where someone should feel justified in providing their unwanted opinion. But if any of you have in fact called out a mother for slapping her kid, you should know that that the response you get is seldom rational, and more along the lines of "mind your own f-ing business."
Although I'm pretty sure no mother is going to say, "You're right. I will never slap my kid again," I do believe people should continue to put pressure on these women to curve their ways in public. No one wants to see a kid being slapped. But once in a blue moon we want to see them naked, pissing on our avenues. :thumright: -
Wait, the mom took her kid *and* the nanny to the supermarket to have the nanny watch him in the store while she shopped? Weird.

Completely asinine logic. A DOG DOES NOT ELIMINATE WASTE IN A TOILET.

The kid should be taken to a restroom. Pure filth and just plain laziness. I don't need to see public nudity or savage human behavior. NOT IN MY BACKYARD.
The watch begins this weekend. To the parents of this vermin and others that allow their kids to piss in public - you've been warned. -
You, Crazy Kid Piss Outrage Individual, are awesome.

Ooh, I have a suggestion that might put the kibosh on both problems: start snapping photos or video the next time you see either event take place. Nobody wants proof they've been hitting their kids and nothing will freak out a parent more than some stranger taking snapshots of their little tot taking a tinkle.
