People, keep your damn cats inside!
One of my strays got hit by a car on Franklin last weekend, I was very lucky that a dear friend was there to pick him up for me. Granted it was Franklin Ave and the weekend but cars couldn't go that fast due to traffic and he was not new to the streets. He was not the first cat I've seen dead on the road, people drive like lunatics with no regard for others and especially not cats. Please, if you care about your cats at all you will keep them inside or only let them out when supervised. You do not want to find your cat the way my stray was found, it's not very pretty.

ah, crap. Sorry, Caseo. I'm so glad my kittehs have a fenced in yard

And they're very lucky to have a caring mom like you! The poor little guy always had a messed up tail but we got him neutered in May and there didn't seem to be anything really wrong with it. I think he was crossing Franklin to eat behind my building, I don't understand why he didn't just stay back there. He had 4 shelters to sleep in and plenty of food. I just wish he would've stayed where he was safe.

Subject: cats
I'm really sorry. I'm sure his life was so much better with you there to take care of him. -
I don't know why they cross the street (um....to get to the other side? LOL). My kitties love to run up the stairs to my upstairs neighbors or go near the front door and I tell them all the time that life does NOT get better than being a kitty in my house and that there is no Fancy Feast out there or somebody to brush them...yet they still think they need to check to be sure. Silly monkeys.
I'm glad you took care of him during his shortened life -
Thanks guys.

So sorry about your kitty. An older woman and I used to feed the strays by the park (on their side of the street) until I realized that they recognized me and would try to follow me back (must have smelled like cat food?). After a few shoo-shoo incidents, we started to feed on the other side of the partition.
It broke my heart to find one of the guys by the curb one morning - very obviously a hit/run. People have no regard for each other much less a sweet little creature. -
It just makes me crazy, the cops have been camped out on my corner for weeks and people still drive like assholes. Of course, they know the cops aren't really going to do anything about it.

Well if the boys in blue are just sitting there might be time for a friendly little chat. Just a polite inquiry if they are there in ANTICIPATION of the vehicular homicide about to happen.
-
They didn't care that I was blocking traffic while my friend picked him up, I'm not sure they even noticed.

This is so sad, my condolences Caseo.
Fucking drivers, it just pisses me off! grrrrr!
Howdy, Stranger!
