    an important point
But that would be a damn talented dog.
  • I am certainly glad that the ever vigilant PeeHeightsYo will be out this weekend in full force, protecting the citizenry from the wicked ways of tiny penises. Brooklynian will be right by his/her side, quite literally, and the 'two' of them shall forever wipe the stain of peepeeing from the streets.

You should all be thanking them profusely. (in between your gallant efforts to stop all smacking of children and punting of dogs, of course)

PeeHeightsYo, you are a got-dammed internet message board hero, turned real life protector of all that is decent. Not only do you protect us all, you protect the innocent trees and the very dirt upon which we all trod.

a smack is not illegal. you cannot hit a kid WITH another object nor can you hit to leave a mark. but a spanking or a slap is not illegal. is it what i will do with my kid? no way. but i see it all the time, and that is that parent's choice. until it is a BEATING,...then i'll do/say something.
You are not a lawyer and you are wrong. Smacking a child is illegal, go ask Ichan Christian who was arrested last year in staten island for smacking his kid.

I know you think it's okay to hit a child, but in fact it's not, and it's illegal. I'm stating the laws, i'm not trying to argue your perception of them.

    Here's the Law:

Neglecting a child includes unreasonably inflicting or allowing the infliction of harm or substantial risk thereof, including excessive corporal punishment. Fam. Ct. § 1012. [Civil Code] Parent/guardian/other person with care and supervision of person under 21, can use non-deadly physical force when and to the extent he reasonably believes necessary to maintain discipline or promote welfare of person force performed upon. Penal § 35:10. [Criminal Code]
  • As a mother of 3 last I checked it was not so easy to find a place to pee in public ASAP (restaurant/store). Sounds like the OP hasn't & won't be procreating.

but what's the mens rea standard here? is reasonable an objective or subjective standard? way to clear up nothing xlizellx.

as a side note, i used to work in brooklyn family court, and you better believe you can slap your kid. and people do it. a lot. in court no less. the moral of the story is, parents are crazy.
  • If the sight of a child peeing against a tree causes shock and outrage amongst the hipster poseurs in PH, and might lead them to find apartments in some other neighborhoods when their current leases expire, then my 2 potty trained children will spend all day today peeing on every tree on Vanderbilt, including the new trees on the center meridian.

I never suspected it could be so easy.

Meh. The people who are outraged here sound more like cranky old men than hipsters.
  • I too fear pima and her penis pranksters, peeing along the blvd to evict the grumps who can't let a child go when he really has to. I can't figure out if people are really this uptight or most of this is humor with a real anti real life bite to it. If you or any member of your family finds themselves doing the peepee dance , just do it. Women should be able to walk topless with and without a child on their teet. Everybody should rethink taking photos of naked children in order to help law enforcement catch up with these tiny offenders. Please let the children pee in peace.
  • for the love of common sense, people gotta pee and most of the time, there isn't public restrooms. who cares its a kid.

I wasn't planning on taking pictures of the offenders. That activity is passive and possibly illegal.

I had planned on calling the authorities, since it is their job to enforce justice. My job as a model citizen is to simply show concern towards these sorts of issues and ensure that my voice is heard.

However, this weekend was peaceful on Vanderbilt Avenue. So I believe this is no longer a sizeable problem to worry over.

you believe that, but secretly we're all whizzing on your stoop in the dead of night.
  • As long as I do not see your nudity.
  • As long as I do not see your nudity.
    he's joking. get it?
  • Um, we're all aware prospectheightsyo is trolling, right? Everyone's just having fun playing along, yes?
  • ^^^
I was just doing my part to ensure this thread continued for 3 pages.

    Mission accomplished!

Sure about that? Check the headshop thread.
  • Perhaps we need an elite brigade regulating naughty behavior like public urination. "In Paris, Behavior Brigade Battles To Make Oui-Oui a Non-Non": http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125176761627774621.html. Mmm, the evocative scent of urine sauvage.
  • Incredible article. I am truly inspired to recruit more people into a brigade for the Prospect Heights area. You better believe I would hand out tickets to the parents of these little animals.
  • just read this thread, didn't plan to comment, but am just shocked at how rude, condescending and fired up people are...everyone should go grab a beer/wine/soda and just chill.
  • Third World people are not quite right for the city for sure. I've seen everything in my short 30 years - people dropping food on the subway car floor and picking it up and eating it, people beating dogs on the street, people walking right into others on the sidewalk and hitting them as hard as possible, and the list goes on...I'm hardly surprised by the public pee incident, just think it's a symptom of certain cultures not assimilating.
  • "That's right, we can't have anyone freak out out there ok! We've gotta keep our composure. We've come too far. There's too much to lose. We gotta just keep our composure"
  • Pablo wrote: people dropping food on the subway car floor and picking it up and eating it
    Five second rule applies.
  • Why is the girls hold their pee until they go into a coffeeshop but boys piss any old where? When I lived across from Prospect Park, I would always see drunk men pissing, thinking no one could see them. Often, I would take my handy laser pointer and red-dot their stinky worm. Then they'd piss on their shoes. Great fun!
  • I hope all the posters that were so offended by a little boy peeing on the ave will take the time to go to the parade and find out what the "real" community standards are. Your objections to naked children will you look silly. 1 hr at the corner of E. Prkwy and Claus,Frank, Nost will change your life. Make sure you buy a nightlight before you go out because you will be on lock down until a crisis unit shows up at your flat. If you ever wondered what it would be like to see Star Jones ala thong before her stomach band ,head out and and live a dream. Prosphghtsyo you should go with your phone predialed to 911.
  • Did you catch any public urination at the parade?
  • Yes, but it was impossible for me to pee and hold my iphone to photograph it at the same time. Next time, I'll enlist a friend.
  • To the contrary, the problem with one kid peeing on a tree is this----

That one kid grows up to be a n overgrown large man
who doesn't have the common sense to find a restroom, because
he THINKS and was taught to
pee on trees when he was a child.

All the big poops that you see peeing in public were

LITTLE kids who were permitted to pee on trees when
    they were cute little kids.

Let us stop this bad habit right now.

    If you see that,

TELL the adult who is allowing it --where the restrooms are

and let the little kid KNOW and hear that this is
unsightly and illegal. You can get a ticket for peeing anywhere
    in public.
copiesofcopies wrote: Calm down. It's not an epidemic -- it's one kid peeing on a tree.

Also, I have no problem with it. Everybody's fancy dog pees on the sidewalk, where I'm walking. They should be so polite as this kid.

Nbvvvvo longer a sizeable problem to worry over?"

Thank God we can sleep safely in our beds.
If the peeing continues, you will let us know won't you?
