Grumpy little Nasty Man taking down Stoop sales Signs...
I posted earlier that we are doing a stoop sale, I know there are alot of sales going on this weekend. My mother and daughter have started putting up signs and noticed a little man with nothing better to do, going around ripping sales signs off. Im warning anyone whose doing a sale, that you might need to put them back. My mother told him it wasnt nice and he was snarky And said " Thier Illegal" and walked off to take more down. Who is this guy?
Good luck everyone this weekend.. just a warning...

it's not a neighborhood without certain elements. I think Grumpy Old Men is one of the cornerstones of all good neighborhoods.
A close second would be perhaps the nosey neighbor with 311 on speed dial.
any others? -

Maybe that's why I see so much more chalk-on-sidewalk stoop sale advertising...

I wish crazy flyer-hating man were a little more choosey about his sign ripping activity. Or would wait until Sunday afternoon. -

if you read the old posting referenced earlier in the thread ("this guy"), which contains edification provided by this guy's sister, you'll undoubtedly come to the same conclusion as homeowner. sometimes it's not just all about us, however inconvenient and annoying.
related: my dog's cat jumped out a 2nd floor window through a hole in the screen ripped by the dog, who apparantly was the accomplice in the escape. i posted signs. cat was found happy and full of adventures four days later, via tips provided by neighbors reading the signs. i believe most cats are lost in this manner, not due to negligence. they want to see all they guess the're missing when they smell the world on us. and can be quite crafty. -
Looks like a job for Wonder Boy.

Well it is illegal to post those signs. I must admit I don't understand the fascination with stoop sales in Brooklyn. I was always taught to donate items to the Goodwill so that it could help others rather than sitting around trying to sell things. Strange.

Hi there, if you had to clean up all of the paper that blows down Vandy and on to Prospect Place, you would understand. The neighborhood used to be filled with liter, crack addicts and graffiti and many of us just kept quiet and swept up the stuff. When neighborhoods start to look as if no one cares, well, no one cares and then other, less desirable activity begins. It has to do with litter and yes, I saw the fellow today, by the way. He just tore down two signs off of a lamp post.
Again, this stuff turns into litter and people forget that other people live here and may not want it to be in front of their house. Better to post at Met Food or some of the laundromats or in front of your own home or on a few sites. Chalk IS a great way to advertise.
Howdy, Stranger!
