Cobble Hill clocks — Brooklynian

Cobble Hill clocks

I've been to two open houses in the last two weeks and both houses had round clocks with "Cobble Hill" in black lettering in their kitchens. When I looked closer, the clocks said "minedesign" but googling turns up nothing.

Does anyone know if there's a local store that sells them? I'd love to get one.

Thanks

  • There was (still is?) a store on the west side of Smith, somewhere close to Union that sells those clocks - also clocks with "Carroll Gardens" and "Brooklyn". It's been a while since I walked past there specifically looking for them, so not sure if it's still open or not.
  • I believe its the shop between the bars "Boat" and "Camp" off Warren st.

Yep. Walked by there today - it's called Home & Haven and they definitely have the clocks. It's at Smith and Wyckoff. Nice store.
  • Thanks so much for the replies -- much appreciated!
  • That's sounds like a great gift idea...anyone know the price?

They're not cheap - $40 or $50 I think. But yes, it would make a very nice gift. They also said that for an extra $5 you can get any location written on the face of the clock.
  • Does anybody have a picture of one of the clocks?
  • Ha. I guess that would be me. Here's mine:

    hmm....I don't know what I was expecting - something a little more hand-crafted, I think.
  • They're designed to look like those time zone clocks you used to see on the news or in airports - that said, mine was a gift and I'm not sure if I would have spent the $$$ for one on my own. Crap. I'm starting to feel like a shill. I swear I have no interest in these things other than the fact that I own one of these stupid clocks. :D
  • ^ ha. I know you're not a shill.

by handcrafted, surely you mean a custom wood clock face with chinese mechanicals, created by whynot the shill.
  • Bad news. I ordered a clock from Home & Haven over three weeks ago. Last week they called to inform me that the company just went out of business. (My typical timing!)
