Have you been to Casita yet? Ooh, it's pretty nice. Is the cafe open? I was there a couple of weeks ago and they were still awaiting some permit or approval or other.
-
My opinion (take it with a grain of salt): I really wanted to like this place - it's cute, the folks seem personable, they will be serving wine and cheese soon, etc. However, my first and second impressions were of disappointment.
I found them to be a bit pushy and I also think they used bad judgment in recommending a project to me - knowing that I was a beginner - that was way beyond my (current) capabilities. I ended up having to take 2 classes to figure out what I was supposed to be doing, in addition to having to make several purchases specific to this project. (It made me wonder if they were clueless or, in fact, cunning.)
One last thing - the instructor began impatiently (verbally) snapping at me when she thought that I wasn't picking things up quickly enough. I put the kabosh on that.
This could be "new shop jitters". If they see this review and don't bar me from coming back, I may try them out, again, a few months from now when they've settled in. -

We went roughly around the same time, I don't think the food portion of the shop is ready yet. I'll have to go again when slipping around in snow isn't an issue. Maybe we can go BYOB. hmmmm. -
If it's snowing, are you cancelling tonight?
-
Feh, actually it didn't snow tonight. A member from Montreal called us wimps for even thinking of bagging out.
[Update: Holy crap! Check out that snow.] -
Chase those winter blah away tonight with the Casserole Night Preservation Society of Prospect Heights and Knit PH at Freddy's Bar. We are also sharing the room with the German Language Studies Club on this night.

7:00-ish, there and abouts
Bring your favorite casserole, bread, salad, or a dessert and kick it back with an icy beer, wine, or wine from a box. Also bring a take-away container. I'll be running a bit late but will there by 7:30. See you there. -
Oh! I forgot about this completely!
I went to the organizational meeting for the Brooklyn Yarn & Fiber Guild (or something very similarly named). It was, um, organizational!
Howdy, Stranger!
