Umm, did anyone else have... — Brooklynian

Umm, did anyone else have...

bondgirl
edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
a Men in Black moment? My boyfriend & I were just walking on Vandy towards Prospect Place, when we looked up & saw (what at first we thought were) airplanes flying kind of in tandem. BUT THEN upon closer inspection, we noticed that they each had one light & were spinning.
He swears they must be satellites - I sense something more otherworldly... Opinions???

  • I didn't see it, but could be related to air show this week in NYC. They practice in advance.

    seriously

  • I saw it too! Whynot? Airshow for real???

oh, my guess is it was makeshift hot air balloons. we used to make them in Brazil: it's all paper with a candle. Any chance it's what you saw?
  • follow link
  • Yep, that's my guess without seeing it. They even mentioned it on the news last night that there would be a bunch of low-flying planes this weekend because of it
  • From my perspective, on the ground, it wasn't a plane. too small. If it was radio powered, i'd be nicely surprised to see what it actually looked like.
  • most modern credible sightings have been traced to rockets and other things launching and dumping of stuff.
  • It's Fleet Week folks... they were doing fly-overs this morning.
  • Funny, yesterday evening I was walking towards Underhill and I looked up, in the sky was what appeared to be a weird light. It was a blue ring with what looked like a white center. It was steady, no flickering, no spinning, no anything. Just there. I shook my head and said, 'It's not what you think dude,' because I am one of those guys who believes there is life out there. Approximately 28 years ago I saw an unidentified flying object (UFO), and I am a firm believer that what I saw was real, and not from this world.

Since there was no movement I thought the light to be a satellite. There are thousands of those in the sky, and I know that on clear days often the metallic glint can be seen as the sun makes contact with them. I have seen celestial objects that I assume were sattelites given the straight trajectory and their movement in the sky as the earth moves.

I say this to say, there was something in the sky. If you really want to be freaked out, check this out:

This video has music on it to add to the eerie feel, but there are others. Google STS -75 and the word 'tether'
  • MHA that video was extracted from the one above it.
    :)
David Sereda was brilliant in that video ("EVIDENCE") --- the "Galaxy Clock" will blow your mind.
  • Oh? Sorry, I couldn't see that link for some reason. I will try again. Sorry for the repititon. I will try to view it again. Galaxy Clock? I'm intrigued. TTYlater, going to see if I can watch it.
