Woodwork is a soccer bar. Vanderbilt and Dean.
-
You might want to call before hand, but Sheep Station and Black Sheep are options.
-
lol Sheep Station AND Black Sheep? That's two more sheep bars than I knew before.
Do British people go there? Where do they hang out? haha. I love British people (I'm part English, but only distantly). I want some English friends. -

See this article about British soccer bars in The Brooklyn Paper a few weeks ago:

Yes, Black Sheep in the south Slope sounds perfect for a british football outing. Place was packed all World Cup long for this reason alone.
-
As mentioned in that article, not only are there many many Brooklyn football/soccer bars, but many are even devoted to particular clubs.
I'm a Liverpool fan but haven't yet been to Roebling Inn. -

black sheep is on bergen street, which is not south slope, not yet anyway.
in manhattan nevada smith's is legendary for its allegiance to some or another team.
and I think one and one (on first ave and first st) shows games as well. -
Nevada Smith's is insanely crowded, so I'd only advise going if that's what you're looking for.
There are tons of places in BK if you don't want to leave our fair borough.
I watched the Champions League final this year at Chip Shop, and I know that Iona on Grand in Williamsburg is also a great spot (with tons of English beer on tap!) -
Well I'm only interested in going to such places to meet British people. So, if it's mostly Americans, then I don't care to go. And it doesn't have to be football, either.
What's a good way of chosing a club to be a fan of? I've been trying to research the town in England where my great grandmother was from, thought that'd be a good solution, but I can't find it, and I have no reason to like a particular team and I actually want to be a fan, not just of whatever team Beckham is playing on. -
What about Chip Shop, The Roebling Inn, and the other bar (I don't know the name, but the below link says there are 3) in the row on Atlantic Ave?

As for picking a club, you're best off picking a few parameters.
Firstly if there's a couple star players you like, you could follow that team. (Lampard, Drogba, Gerrard, Rooney, Tevez, etc) (or the good American players: Tim Howard, Brad Friedel, Clint Dempsey)
Then: do you want to root for one of the classic "big 4", do you want to root for the 2nd tier teams who are very good and lately have been threatening the big 4? Do you want to root for an underdog? Do you want to root for one of the teams at the bottom of the table who just came up from the lower division?
Here's a very rough guide:
Big 4 (although Liverpool's having a rough go): Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool
2nd tier: Manchester City, Everton, Aston Villa, Tottenham ("Spurs")
Middle tier: Bolton, Fulham, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle, Wigan
The rest: Birmingham, Wolves, Sunderland, Blackpool, West Bromwich, Stoke City, West Ham
Then there are also geographical and cultural considerations. Root for a London team? Or a big city team from the north? (Manchester or Liverpool) Root for a more "working class" team, or a more expensive/elite/wealthy team?
There are also great rivalries, usually by city. Man United vs Man City. Liverpool vs Everton. Chelsea v Arsenal. & many more.
If you have any questions, please ask! I love English soccer.
