Watering Holes — Brooklynian

Watering Holes

please forgive me if i start multiple threads of this nature, BUT...

any place cool to hang out and have a few drinks in CH, or do i have to hike it over to Soda? i haven't seen too many places other than Utopia, and that place hasn't recieved ringing endorsements...

  • not really. ya got ripple, but beyond that it's pretty sparse. there's q's on nostrand (and some sketchy, half-opened places on franklin), but that's about it.
  • I have been to brooklyn exposure a couple times on bedford and st marks, its pretty good. live music.
  • closest one i know of is ripple.
  • Haha we went to Utopia the night we moved in and needless to say have not gone back since (shudder)

I do want to check out Ripple, though.
  • There's Munchies on Kingston between St.Johns and Lincoln Place.

You get buzzed in. The bartenders have been nice every time I go.

There's also a queer bar on Nostrand--can't remember the name.
  • SEPIA--another good neighborhood bar.

it's not officially in CH--altho the area was CH before someone invented "prospect heigts."

It's on Underhill near Eastern Parkway.

The owner is very friendly. Good mojitos, sometimes live music, sometimes homemade dinner on Sunday nights.
  • Ripple isn't bad. Two of my friends spin there. It's a small place, though.

I was in Utopia once. I got a ride back from the LES after a long night of drinking and had to piss, so I walked in to use their bathroom (around 1am). There were only 3 guys in suits there... a very strange place.
