Whynot's poll — Brooklynian

Whynot's poll

Subject: Whynot's poll

Although Whynot sympathizes with Black Nationalism and Separatism, he knows that he will not make a certain poster change his views or tactics.

When Whynot is annoyed or offended by such posts, should he bother to confront them?

Note: This poll may have an actual impact on your Brooklynian experience. If the majority votes for Whynot to continue his typo ridden, repetitive retaliatory rants, he will Edited on Sept 16: might.

However, if the majority votes for him to stop, he will instead just link the above poll results in response to the diatribes of a certain poster. Readers will no longer have to endure Whynot's responses in these instances. (other instances will still occur, but 90% of the typing by Whynot will stop).

Another note: While Whynot will abide (edit Sept 16: likely abide ) by the outcome, his mood, sense of identity and psyche will actually not be affected regardless of the outcome. Whynot is dumb, but he does not risk creating polls that could result in him becoming unhappy.

Final note: Whynot predicts that despite being available here for 3 days, this poll will get less than 15 total votes ....nobody reads this blather. As a result of being a "cafeteria nihilist", he believes that this board doesn't have much to do with the revolution or even the ongoing stasis.

  • I must state that after only 24 hours of polling, I am pleased to report that 12 people have already voted.

(I credit the link in my signature for bringing more traffic to Brooklynian's skid row: The place where posters mostly aimlessly walk around and talk to themselves. Screaming at a wall and flailing ones arms while walking in traffic has also been reported)

These early returns show that eight (!) people wish for me to continue to confront the posts of said anonymous, self reported "Black Nationalist and Separatist", while only four people believe I should not bother.

[How the hell will I ever become a productive citizen if I am programmed to make you happy, and the majority of you people want me to continue to engage in this nonsense?]

At this point, literally twice as many people want me to continue to confront him than not!

.....the results are far too early to call, but I encourage all voters regardless of their position, to continue to vote. Forget voting in today's primaries, this is where the real action is at!

I completely agree. I can't believe that of the 16 voters so far, 10 people want me to continue to confront the anonymous guy's posts, and only 6 want me to stop.

When I started this poll, I thought for sure everyone would tell me this conversation should stop, and that they are being given head aches.

FWIW, I voted that I should stop.

When a poster crosses the line into tedious he should stop, even if he has been given permission by the masses into deluding himself he is winning.

Clearly, these folks are pretty resistant to headaches.

While the poll results have been interesting, assuming that the results don't change in the remaining one day of voting, I will likely still stop typing under the guise that I have become busy at work or something.

....given the amount that has been typed on various threads, it's not like there is a lot of new stuff that remains to be discussed. It's not like people don't know Whynot's opinion on the anonymous poster's views, and --despite how it may appear-- I have no inherent need to constantly confront him.

I have nothing personal against the guy.
  • Screw this poll. You need to start a new one: "Should Whynot continue to refer to himself in the third person?"

    Count my vote now: Nay.

So noted. I will consistently reply to myself in the first person.

Should I ever feel the need to do a feedback poll in the future, I will call it "My Poll". People will know its from me and about me because of the dog photo and the letters W-h-y-n-o-t.
